Does this have the metalized plastic in it that radiates heat?
Answer by ChewyDec 16, 2017
The topside of the crate pad is made from soft, inviting microfleece while the bottom has a "stay pet" non-slip fabric to keep the pad from bunching up in the crate. The self-warming material is actually metalized plastic, similar to that in which you’ll find in space blankets. It is not intended to be chewed and is not safe if ingested.

I was wondering if this mat would be able to stay outside day/night for outdoor dogs?
Answer by ChewyJan 14, 2018
This product is recommended to use indoors. This mat is ideal for traveling and can be used in the car or hotel. It also can be easily placed in a crate or carrier or used as a stand-alone bed in any room in the house.

Polyester success!

Not sure how this works but I think Polyester lining insulated the air under the doggies. Its the only thing that makes sense. All six of the dogs tried it and even the husky came in from the snow and chose to lay in it. Winner winner chicken dinner. Glad I bought two

Cheap comforter

This is a very thin comforter style pad. I would not put in a crate says cannot be washed and is thin. I wanted this for my senior dog to help his joint pain, but that is not what it is.

I LOVE THESE MATS.,,,,

I ORDERED SEVERAL OF THESE TO GIVE MY SENIOR CAT A COMFY PLACE TO LAY AROUND THE HOUSE. ANYTHING SELF WARMING IS A GOOD THING. THE CAT LOVES IT, AND SPENDS A LOT OF HER TIME ON THESE MATS. THEY ARE AN EXCELLENT ITEM, AND MY CAT BUDDY GIVES IT FIVE STARS INDEED. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS ITEM TO OTHERS. THANKS.

Horrible Quality

Order a $9 pad and that’s what you’ll get. By far the cheapest crate pad I’ve ever seen. Almost no padding. The thinnest material you can imagine. I see any dog tearing this apart simply by laying in it. Looks like a disposable pad that would last a day.

NOT WASHABLE

Very disappointed to realize it is not machine washable. I should have read more reviews! Who makes a dog bed not washable?!

Save your money

The cats want nothing to do with this mat. The fabric is cheap and not soft. The mat is NOT machine washable.

You get what you pay for.

Absolutely awful quality. Makes noise and the fabric "moves" which drives the dog crazy. He constantly digs at it.

Do not recommend

This product is not for chewers, dogs with anxiety, energetic dogs. I got this for my lab pit mix and he developed a blockage from the microfleece in his intestines from ripping this bed apart. (Side note: he was a rescue from the streets (PTSD diagnosed) and the only teeth he had were his canines. ) In which causes bile to back up and him vomiting bile. Please be aware.
