Are they good for rough surfaces like gravel
Answer by ChewyJul 04, 2017
These boots are made of elastic rubber rather than hard, shoe type rubber so rough surfaces can cause the boots to tear. These boots are more suited to protect against ice, snow, salt, lawn chemicals and, hot surfaces.

how much wider does the opening get per size?
Answer by ChewyDec 06, 2018
The rubber material of the boots is able to stretch so the opening size difference will not determine the best sizing for your pet. The sizing is based upon the paw length.

I'm trying to figure this part out what happens when they "dig" to go poopoo? Will boot tear
Answer by ChewyFeb 06, 2019
These boots are made to be durable. However, it depends on how determined your pet is.

Let me preface all this by saying, my dog is the exact weight she is supposed to be for her breed and age. I purchased the large size based on the size of her paws. I used them to protect her pads from being licked after putting healing cream on them (she is having issues with dry/cracked pads). When I removed the dog boots, her paws were so swollen from the circulation being cut off. I thought they were snug, but didn't know they would do that. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS AT ALL!

Helps my pup not slip!

My 1yr old Dane had a spinal stroke 7 months ago. She slowly relearned to walk but one of her rear legs has always slid horizontally causing her to fall. These grip just enough that she doesn’t lose her balance and can even run on the hardwood floors without slipping and falling!! Game changer for this dog mom!!

Thick Balloons

I got a L for my small Doberman. They went on easily and seemed to fit the foot well. The opening around the ankle was so tight I didn't want to leave them on fearing they might cut off circulation. Never used them. They are basically thick balloons.

Protects dogs' paws

Not hard to get on - start with 2 people if possible until you and the dog get used to it. I use them to keep my dogs' paws clean when out walking on the sidewalk. Wish I bought years ago. I bought 2 sizes - the one my dogs' paws measured and one size up because other reviews said to size up but I found that the size they measured fit better for us no need to size up.

Ripped on first use

The positive on these are that they did help my puppy walk in the snow without his feet freezing and having him limp. Also, even though they are a little difficult to put on—he couldn't get them off. The HUGE negative was that 3 of the 4 PawZ ripped the first time I used them on regular icy city sidewalks. I had just been to the groomer to have his nails trimmed, so it wasn't that. I can't use them again.

Best Boot Around

These boots are wonderful. They are the ONLY ones that stay on. I'm not sure why so many people have trouble putting them on. You just stretch the opening and slide your dog's foot in. I have an 80lb American Bully who is sensitive to cold surfaces, and he can actually walk/run in these boots as opposed to clunky winter boots that slide off, causing him to trip. They protect his feet from the freezing surface + the salt + general concrete. We live in the city and they have stood up against a lot of walks on concrete sidewalks. Of course they will wear down eventually - but there are 12 in a pack. I would say we go through a whole set of 4 per month, which is fine, especially for the price range (3 sets in a pack). I would be so upset if these ever stopped being sold.

These are awesome

Are they basically thick balloon material, definitely. Do these work as waterproof booties, definitely! Size chart was correct for my pup, and we use these to encourage her to use her "bad" leg following surgery. They stay on, are reasonably easy to get off, and effective.

They made wonderful balloons

My little dogs are shivering in the cold weather. I was hoping that they would be willing to wear little boots. All the nice boots were sold out. So I bought these waterproof dog boots to see if the dogs would even wear them. When the waterproof dog boots arrived they were just tiny rubber balloons . Couldn’t even stretch the opening open enough to even put the dogs foot in.

Great material closures too tight.

Tough flexible material. Boots were a bit too large which was no problem as they stayed on well. Problem was that the area around ankle was so tight that it cut off circulation. I had to cut them open and use duct tape to secure them. Still like them for rainy, muddy days, they make a big difference keeping her paws clean.

Best Boots

They are a basic, simple, lightweight, rubber boot to protect pup paws from salt and street dirt (look like a rubber balloon). They can be used over and over and easy to fit regarding size. I do recommend one size larger in beginning of using so it is easier to put them on.
