Cute but on the small side
This is a very cute cabinet (I ordered the orange and brown one). It matches my home's decor and style perfectly! My cats LOVE IT. I currently have a covered litter box that's fairly large because I have two cats, and unfortunately it is too big to fit into the cabinet (even without the top). I haven't bought a smaller one yet, but it seems it will fit a standard sized litter box. I recommend getting a litter mat to put underneath because litter does fly everywhere, and it'll make for an easier clean up. Putting it together maybe took about a half hour/20 minutes by myself. Instructions were super easy to follow. If you've ever put anything Ikea together, this is a no-brainer. I have a lovely Monstera on top of mine and it just makes the cutest accent cabinet. If I had more room, I would buy another!
Looks great!
I bought this box for my 12 lb cat to hide the litter in my bedroom. It looks great and it only took me 30 min or less to put together! There were a few comments about litter boxes not fitting but for reference I purchased the Van Ness Cat Litter Pan, Blue, Large to go inside and my cat is able to get into it fine and it fits in the cabinet fully. I will say often my cat pushes open the doors to get out instead of going back outside the hole, but I think magnets could fix that. She also fits in the hole fine and the height of the hole works!
Plan Ahead
This cabinet is attractive and easy to assemble. It's high enough for an average height person to use as a table top (ie, for folding laundry). It arrived quickly from Chewy and without damage. If your goal is to hide away the funky stuff and add surface area to your home, you've found a great product. However, if your goal is to keep your dog out of the litter box, this is not the system for you. The entry hole is quite large and my hungry-all-the-time super mutt found the treasure within hours of placing the litter box inside. I've tried partially blocking the entrance with the litter genie, and my dog just pushes it aside. I am determined to make this work, but it's going to take creativity, additional supplies, and additional work. Also, double check the size of your litter box. This cabinet would have fit my old covered box, but the new system I purchased on Chewy (which I LOVE: https://www.chewy.com/tidy-cats-breeze-cat-litter-box/dp/47094) is too wide for the doors to close and I'm currently using baby-proofing cabinet straps to keep the doors closed until I can find time to carve space out of the back panel to allow the box to fit and the doors to close.
Faulty product
The legs that came with it are completely non-functional and will not screw into the base making the entire product unusable.
Quite Aesthetic but Odd Functionality
So the cabinet is very cute and I was able to put it together myself. But the interior size does not fit a regular litter box, AND worst of all the air flow holes on the far side are just at the right height for my biggest cat to pee right through. I can’t use a taller litter box as I previously had done because then the cats have difficulty getting inside! Why the air flow holes are not at the top is beyond me, and it also would have made SO much more sense to drop the floor down so the cats could just step directly into a litter box instead of having to awkwardly climb up into it. It’s a very nice idea but seems to have not been designed by someone who actually has a cat.
Cat loves it!
Great litter box, looks like a nice piece of furniture in our laundry room. We had trouble keeping our puppy away from other litter boxes, this one he can't get into.
Poor quality
The assembly of my order was a great challenge. The sizes of the panels were incorrect preventing the pegs fitting correctly and secure. After a few attempts and call to our building maintenance for advice, we gave up and looking for something else.
Worth the money!
Very easy to assemble, took maybe 15 minutes (with my cats help lol). I have my cats automatic feeder in it to keep the dog out of it. Works amazing and super cute!
Cute but flawed design
One of the pictures on the product page shows the hole about halfway up the side which is a good idea and makes sense, however the actual hole in the product is basically at the bottom of the panel meaning the litter box itself blocks half the hole. That makes it hard for the cats to get inside and also makes litter fly out everywhere when they exit. The whole reason I purchased this cabinet was to help keep litter contained. If the hole is going to be lower than the lip of the litter box, it's essentially no different than having the litter box sitting on the floor in the house. This size was good bc it was taller than most other litter enclosures I looked at but its hard to find a litter box that will fit inside. If it was maybe a foot wider, the litter box would sit more to the right and away from the hole to help prevent so much litter from flying out and give the cats more room to enter and exit. Also having the hole up higher would help as well. I wanted to love it but I will probably return it bc it doesn't work well for it's intended use. This could easily be an amazing cabinet with a few minor modifications. The pictures show how much litter is everywhere after ONE use. If I got a 5" tall shallow litter tray I'm sure it would be even worse.
Wouldn’t recommend
Pros: - One of the easiest piece of furniture I’ve ever assembled. - Nice, modern appearance. - Reasonably good size. (Would prefer it was a couple inches deeper for XL litter boxes though) - Adjustable legs. Cons: - Cannot move panel with opening to right side during assembly, if desired; opening only on left side. This panel should be designed to be used on either side like similar products. - Opening is 8” in diameter; Opening is 2.5” from bottom of cabinet; most large litter trays are at least 5” tall meaning, if you plan to put use a large tray, the opening the cats can use is effectively only 5.5” tall or less depending on tray. The hole should be 2-3” inches higher. The pictures, in my opinion, deliberately don’t show this discrepancy, despite showing a large tray in the cabinet. I observed my two 10 pound cats both struggle to get in and out of the box. - In my opinion, the white color is more of a cool, almost light grey. Didn’t match with the white walls, other white furniture in the house. If you buy this, I recommend using it with a covered litter box because the cabinet will stink after only a few uses otherwise. In my opinion, it feels like this was designed by people who don’t have cats or have never used a product like this. A few simple design choices could turn this easily from a 2 to a 5
