We have two Hummingbird feeders. One like this and one that is different. The Hummingbirds like this model and fight over the food. We took the other one down and replaced it with the one we purchased from Chewy. All is well now. The price is very reasonable compared to the same feeder we look at else where.
While this feeder LOOKS nice, it's such a disappointment. The part with the flowers is completely rusted out inside where the solution touches it, after 2-3 months, so now the food must taste terrible since they NEVER go to feel from it anymore. I tried to get the rust off with steel wool, etc...it just rusted again. Also this is a very poor design and there ARE NO SPARE PARTS for it. Chewy and the manufacturer will send you a new feeder, but it will just rust again...poor design!
A pretty feeder, but the metal portion eventually rusts, contaminating the nectar (turned it green). I've taken off the metal portion and am using the rest of the feeder as a waterer for birds.
Easy to clean and fill. Just wish it had a perch bar.
This hummingbird feeder has a two part base, with a plastic bottom and a metal top with painted metal flowers and feeding holes. The metal top appeared to be made of copper and painted with a decorative finish. However, it's clearly made of steel because the metal top portion of the base of two feeders is already starting to rust after just two months of use. I specifically bought these feeders because I wanted them to last, but now I will be forced to sandblast the upper metal base and paint it with epoxy paint to prolong it's lifespan.
What a relief to finally have another feeder that is accepted by the Hummers that live in my yard. I have purchased a number that all the Hummers refused. The has been a bit of a war between the two tribes (8-)) as neither could choose which of my two feeders they wanted. It took about 2 weeks for them to decide which of the feeders they wanted. Both my feeders are red glass. I tucked the new feeder into my Red tip bushes on the opposite side of my porch to the old feeder. Peace reigns at last. I really love how they look. Both are easy to clean and refill. I get many compliments and recommend them to my friends & neighbors.
May sound like a silly issue, but these feeders are very particular about how they are screwed back together. They don't easily line up and the bottom looks like it's screwed back on, but then you flip over and all your juice leaks out. It's not a good design and if you have to clean your feeders twice per week, these are not good feeders to get. I'm replacing them with top loaders, and will donate these.
Ordered this for a party gift and it was definitely a hit. Very pretty with thick solid glass. It also has a metal coated base as opposed to the plastic bases seen on many glass hummingbird feeders.
Hummingbird feeder This hummingbird feeder is very attractive and I really do like it a lot my only issue is that it doesn’t have a place for the Hummers to stand which at times they actually would enjoy being able to do that
I guess I'll be as surprised as my best friend. Ordered this as a birthday gift. We'll see and I'll update my review.
