FAQ

Birds at my feeder look sick, what should I do?

The best thing to do is to stop feeding the birds temporarily. Remove the feeders and throw out all of the seed. Thoroughly wash your feeders. Remove all debris from under your feeder. Do not touch the sick birds. Refill all of your feeders and resume feeding.

How do I prevent seeds from sprouting under my feeder?

You will need to sterilize your seed to prevent it from germinating. This will not alter the attractiveness or the nutritional value of the seed in any way. Here are two methods:Conventional Oven: Place the seed on a baking sheet and cook for 30 minutes at 300°F.Microwave Oven: Place seed in a paper bag. Cook on high power for 5 minutes.

Why does the seed in my feeder get moldy?

Mold is caused by a heavy rain, driving sleet or snow plugging the feeding ports and allowing water to dampen the seed. Always clean, dry and refill your feeders after heavy weather. You may also want to try placing 1/4" of cat litter in the bottom of the feeder to absorb excess moisture.

    Very pretty

By Lisa on Feb 5, 2021

I really like this bird feeder. I've had a similar type with this same lid concept so you have to know how to put it on correctly. Just read the directions. Not difficult. Looks very stately in front of my home. Not squirrel proof but they need to eat too.

Great Buy better than what we replaced.

By tomkat on Jan 24, 2021

Our feeder is on 2nd floor deck and wind got it and we shopped a bit for replacement, wow, this was great find, Constant traffic and great view from all angles. The price was where it should be. And of course we love Chewy, came right away so our feathered friends did not have to get upset.

    Excellent quality

By Debi on Jan 22, 2021

This bird feeder exceeded my expectations. I’ve ordered from other sites and the feeders are cheaply made and don’t last. This one is made from thick glass and metal and will surely last awhile. The locking lid keeps the squirrels out too.

    Great quality

By Johnny on Feb 8, 2021

Let me just say WOW! Large feeder made of aluminum! Not plastic. The windows are plastic though. The quality of this feeder is fantastic. And it’s bird approved.

    Love this feeder!

By Ferris on Jan 29, 2021

I have several of these feeders now. They hold a lot and the birds seem to prefer them to my other feeders. They hold up really well.

    Good for the birds.

By Linda on Jan 26, 2021

Easy for the birds to get food. This does not stop squirrels, but the metal does help so the squirrels cannot destroy the feeder.

    Beautiful and sturdy

By Marwyo on Nov 3, 2020

This feeder is even more beautiful than I expected. Some reviewers stated that the top was loose and wouldn't stay on. Mine was the same way until I opened the lid and pulled on the cord to make sure it was straight. I then made sure the lid was on evenly and closed it. WALA it is secure.

Doesn't dispense larger pieces of food

By Birdlover on Sep 1, 2020

The wholes in the bottom of the hopper are too small to dispense the larger pieces of corn and nuts in food like the Lyric fruit and nut mix. I got it because it would hold a large amount of food. I will try a different brand of food and a no waste type of food without shells to see if it will work better.

    Birds in TN

By Birds on Dec 8, 2020

This is the most crookest bird feeder I’ve ever seen. I do not think it is welded right.
