Very disappointed, I purchased this the end of October and November 1 it was put in use. It has what I consider to be a very easy job, keep a 12lb A-Lhasapoo who prefers to be inside and on a lap from running away. I don't have a fenced yard so anytime she goes out she is put the leash and she goes out for 1-2 min unless it's perfect weather and then she might spend a max of 15 minutes outside, so this has been used (average of 5min /trip with 4 trips daily) an estimated total of 35 hours since purchase. 35 hours over 4 months with a dog that doesn't pull on it, in fact if she goes beyond the bottom of our stairs and the leash becomes fully extended she has to work when she decides to comeVery disappointed, I purchased this the end of October and November 1 it was put in use. Now it's really not heavy; it weighs in at 148g or a little more than 5 oz but it would be like a 5lb weight being tied around your neck if you are a 200lb human. It's certainly not impossible but she finds it a bit of a challenge.
My point is this leash has not been put under any stress since I purchased it so the fact that the plastic sheath is cracked in multiple spots and the wire lead is exposed is unexpected. I would expect this to appear close to new, in fact my other lead that I purchased at the same time for an 88lb Pit has been put under some stress. He takes off when he sees any guests or other animals, he is friendly and just wants to say HI. He spends 10-60min outside when he goes and it still looks new. I would suggest you find a different lead and save yourself from having this experience.
Now I would normally be upset over the poor quality and waste of money but in this case I am very angry as the sharp wire cut Jenny's paw. I didn't realize what had caused the cut and assumed she stepped on something outside but later the same day I coiled up the lead and also got a small cut. Nothing requiring any medical intervention but a 4 month old lead should not look like a 20 year old leash. Very unimpressed.… more
Love the 25 ft length
on Mar 6, 2021
I love the 25 ft length of the this tie out for the size of my backyard and can't understand why this length is so hard to find? I've only been using it for about a month so I'm not sure now long it will hold up. The only thing that I thought could be improved was the cable strength, as I purchased the one for 90 lb dog and thought that the cable should have been thicker!

Works great for my dog!
on Dec 23, 2020
This cable works well with our dog who is over 50 pounds. However, after a while outside it can get bent up, and needs to be reordered. But that's just normal wear and tear of an animal. We are happy with our tie-out dog cable. One day a neighbor's dog cord broke and came over to our house, so we just gave them our cable and ordered another one because we were that confident in it.

I recently ordered a 25 foot cable for our chitpoo to to be clipped on to so she has access to our yard. In Buffalo its crucial to have this because of our changing seasons. Works great.

latch broke in half
on Oct 6, 2020
I bought this cable for my indoor dog, who loves to lay in the sun outside. She is very protective and loves squirrels so I bought since I do not have a fence. The cable was a great length and nice quality but within the first week, my 25lb dog was out on the cable and my indoor dog went crazy. I went outside to find my dog not secure. The metal latch had literally broken in half. Thank goodness my indoor dog alerted me and my dog that was outdoors did not go beyond my driveway. She also got wrapped up with it several times.
