My cats were excited and enjoyed the toy but the metal clasp that holds the feathers to the string broke. The metal clasp just broke in half from swinging it around not a cat tugging on it. The rod is not usable after 10 minutes.
Our cat loves teaser toys like this, but for some reason he goes absolutely feral for this one. He will chase it for hours, would totally buy again.
8 year old cat is now chasing feathers around the room. She was getting chunky - knew I had to do something. Great choice for her.
My cats love the feather toys. It's nice being able to buy those separately so I can "reload" the wand after my cats have ripped off the feathers. My problem is that the metal clip that holds the toy snapped after 2 months. How brittle is this that the metal snaps with a 5-6lb load?
This is a great toy! One of my kitten’s just loves it. The other one is scared if it (and everything). Jerry is a very active kitty who needs to be stimulated to keep him from getting in trouble. He has caught this many, many times several times a day and it has held up great. I’m very impressed with how durable it is and how well it is and how much fun Jerry has with it. I highly recommend this to anyone with an active cat who needs to be worn out.
I've purchased this wand twice now and the top piece of it has snapped (not just disconnected) both times, since the inside of the wand is hollow and the outside is polycarbonate (plastic). The description says "indestructible" which is laughable at this point. The clasp to attach the feathers has broken on both wands as well. The elastic and the claw pieces can be easily replaced with whatever elastic cord and clasps you can find but since the wand itself keeps breaking, I would not purchase again.
So far I've used it for all of 5 minutes and the red feather fell out within the first minute of play. Wish it would snap or screw together, as when the cat grabbed the feathers she pulled the rod right apart. Only giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because of the bell. That's a nice touch, but basically very cheaply made.
My cat REALLY liked his old toy like this... but it was all forgotten when this one came out. It's longer bar and string make it much easier to capture his attention and it is easier to replace the toy at the end. Really it's too loved - cat won't leave it alone. :P
My cat loves this toy! As soon as she hears the bell she becomes so engaged and will sprint around chasing it forever! One downside is that after playing with it for a couple mins, the rod will loosen up and will sometimes fly off. But you can reattach it really easily, but it has launched across the room a few times
I applaud Chewy on most levels, but these wooden wand toys is not one of them. This is the 3rd one I have had. Chewy replaced the first, and substituted that one for another. They fall apart as you're playing with your cat. Who wants to play with a toy that falls apart as you try to play with it?? Not me! So, no! I do not recommend this toy! Neither does Missy!
