Long Ramp For 10 year old dog

By DogTraveler on Mar 18, 2021

We were looking for a long ramp for our F250 for our dog to get into the back seat. We have to put it on the step bar for a lower angle. Putting it up to the floorboard of the truck is too steep for her and the door gets in the way. Even though it has sandpaper like grip, she still slides and it is already scratched up. I like the lightweightness of it, but still sturdy.

    Perfect for aging dog

By hollyd on Feb 2, 2021

After injuring my back I was limited to the amount of weight I could lift. I have a 13 yr old Bassett/Beagle who is a little chunky. He was no longer able to jump in my truck so I purchased this to use for that and also bring it in the house for him to get on my bed. Product is super durable plastic with non skid surface for walking. Easily portable, folds in half for storage. Great product.

Good for a small car with a hatchback

By Rocko on Jan 17, 2021

My dog weighs about 40 pounds and this holds her well. The surface is pretty smooth. I have another ramp for my SUV and it has a thick fake grass surface that holds her paws a lot better. But, since I always hold her harness as she is going up the ramp, this one serves the purpose. I will keep it. It is nice and light also.

    Not great so far.

By AnnieB on Oct 25, 2020

My 100 pound Shepherd was willing to try the ramp (injured and painful knees). But there was no way to get traction. He made it, but it was painful. And that defeated the point of the ramp. It barely fit in the back doorway of an Chevy Equinox and has no way to secure the top. And, I definitely will have to figure out the traction problem. Disappointing.

    1st time ramp user.

By Lucy on Oct 18, 2020

It would be nice if there was a little bit of rubber on this. It has a rough surface for traction, but I have a higher SUV type car and my aging dog has never used a ramp before and is terrified to use it. I wonder if having rubber sections along the way would give her more confidence to use it. I should add that she is only about 55 lbs.

    Dog ramp for SUV

By aussiegal on Jan 18, 2021

Don't like this ramp, too slippery - no traction for the dogs walking on it. I like Chewy, just not this ramp.

    Pet gear dog ramp

By Karen on Aug 24, 2020

Purchased this for my aging lab, she’s used ramps before so wasn’t anything new for her, however this one made her nervous as even tho it has like sandpaper on it, there is no traction snd VERY slippery. Of course then it gets all scratched from their nails, so no returning it, i did a bit of modification beings I can’t return and put slates across it in order to give her a more secure feeling. That seems to help. Also thought the length would be sufficient for my Ford escape to use in the back, but it’s too steep. So have to cram it in the side door which does work at least. Not great but better. It does fold up nice and fits great in the back of my car and not too heavy at all.

    Works great!

By LittleRedTub on Aug 6, 2020

My dog "understood" right away what the ramp was for and walked right up and got in the car. The only thing I noticed that can cause a problem is the sides are slippery and maybe should be covered with the sandpaper material as well.
