Bought this for a new litter of puppies they were getting out of the welping box . It works great,just wish there was more than one zipper on the top.

Not for chewers

It was awesome, but not for my Golden Retriever chewing 3 month old puppy. He chewed the zipper tracks! Cant use it now

great little playpen

This is a great little playpen. My little puppy enjoys it and it's very versatile. We unzip the top and zip the side flap in the day and put her in it if we need her safely contained while within our sight. At night, we put her bed in it and zip the top and side and drape a very light blanket over the top and she falls right asleep. If we have to leave her alone at the house, we put her in it with toys, but no bed and zip the top and side. She does great. This is great for our small puppy, but not for a heavy chewer or super active animal. We put a whelping pad in the bottom, so clean up is a breeze if there is an accident anytime.

Bandit’s Safe Zone During Illness

My 16 year old kitty developed a brain tumor that caused her to walk in circles and go blind. This play pen became her safe zone when she wanted to walk (no corners to get stuck in), and for sleeping at night. This also solved litter box issues as we put potty pads down on the waterproof pen floor. We could also move the pen to different rooms as needed quite easily. I never write reviews but I was so grateful for how this product performed for our specific needs.

Peace of mind during move

I bought this for peace of mind during a move. My Melissa has always been a very skittish girl. We were moving a few states away and I was at a loss how to keep her safe in hotel rooms. I bought this to serve as her personal hotel within the hotel. I did not have to worry about her getting behind things, under the beds or anyplace else she should not be. It is easy to set up and take down once you know the trick. It folded very flat so we could easily get it in and out of the car each day. I bought the large size to fit her old kitten size litter box, food and water, and several blankets for sleeping on. Four nights in four different hotel rooms, this thing paid for itself. I was able to zip my upper torso inside to lay on the floor and comfort her when she was lonesome. I plan to use it as an outdoor tent for my boy once we have a yard.

I can't fathom how a large dog could use this, but it does work reasonably well for cats and kittens. Pros: Wily felines can't jump out of the top and you can imprison them with ease. It's aesthetically not that bad and it folds up unobtrusively. Cons: I don't think that it's a very quality build. It shows signs of wear easily with just cats who wear SoftClaws, so I don't expect it will stand the test of time and I definitely can't see how it would stand up to a dog. The zippers are finicky, which has sometimes resulted in the zippers failing if a cat gets the best of the playpen. Again, if a cat can screw up this pen, pretty sure some dogs could too. Overall: Great design, decent aesthetics, love the closed top and the small storage size. But the quality makes me unable to recommend this item for long-term regular use. Once and awhile probably is just fine, or like if you're trying to raise a batch of kittens [or puppies who haven't got too many teeth yet] or something more time-bound. Again, I can't see how it could stand up to a dog or puppies who are able to chew and I doubt it will survive my cats for very long.

Just what I needed!

This pen is just what I needed for my senior dog. It was easy to set up and I can put her in it with her dog bed and a pad if I need to take a shower or run a quick errand and I know she’ll be safe. I’m very happy with it.

Best Purchase!

I read through the reviews of this item and several other similar items. I ordered this and I am not sorry. My new puppy loved it from the first day and collects all her toys so she can put them in her “safe” place. The pen is very easy to put up and take down to store, or take to the park. It is sturdy and well made. I purchased the large size to allow for puppy growth. I have not had a problem with it tipping, but she is a puppy who only weighs 6.5#. The only occasional problem is she likes to chew on the zipper when the door is open so I have put a blanket over the zipper and distract her with a chew toy and that has been successful. I highly recommend this item!

Zipper Broken

Beautiful. Roomy. Lightweight . Zipper however broke in just a few days ! ! Huge disappointment and loss of a place to keep my puppy when he’s home alone.

Inside Cat Home

Great product. I used it to house a cat who had been severely injured and blinded who I needed to medicate 3 times a day and wanted a warm safe home for him large enough for a litter box, food bowls, blankets, and space to move around. This Pet Gear home was perfect and very affordable. Easy to set up and take down and store. I now have it stored in my van in case of an emergency evacuation.
