Overall, good product.
We had been throwing our poop bags in our regular garbage that ended up in a larger garbage can in the garage and then taken out to the curb on trash day. It didn't take us long to realize that wasn't going to work long term as our garage started smelling and our large garage, garbage can was starting to absorb the poop smell. We purchased the Pet Genie Pet Waste Disposal System and the smell went away. NOW, emptying this Pet Genie Pet Waste Disposal System is no easy feat though. It STILL smells, BUT the smell IS contained by this product. We have since adjusted our lifestyle so as we don't have to use or empty the genie, but we will keep the genie for any future lifestyle adjustments that would have us needing to use the Pet Genie Pet Waste Disposal System again.
Pet genie refills no where to be found
Great device if only you can find refill replacements.
Works great if you use it correctly
I think this product works great for small to medium size dogs. Large dogs may challenge it's capacity and I understand those complaints. But a lot of low rating reviews are from people who don't know that you are supposed to first pick up your dog's feeces in a regular poop bag and then put the poop bag with its contents in the pet genie. It works great if you do that
Disappointed
I would give this 0 stars if I could!!!! It had a missing part which Chewy did send after I notified customer service. But the biggest disappointment was that the smell leaks out and smells up my entire garage. This does not work!!!!!
Anti-fly, Heat Buster
We moved to the desert last summer and learned that putting dog pickup bags in a lidded container outside baked the bags and the smell was terrible. We ditched the container and let the bags pile up at each door in between trash pickup days, but despite the cooler winter days, the flies took up residence. With summer coming fast, we needed to find a way to keep the bags indoors,so we ordered a Pet Genie and started its trial. Fantastic! No flies at our doors, no baked intensified smell, and no smell indoors. We will order another one so we have one by each door. Once we figured out the cut and tie disposal system, it is easy as can be. I was doubtful it would contain the smell indoors, but it works as it claims.
poor design and qulity
I bought it two weeks ago. I only use it a couple of time. Now I give up. It is poor design and poor quality. You still can smell odor outside container, not seal very well
Smells awful
Never again I’ll use my diaper genie. This is super tiny and super stinky!!!!!
Handy poop disposal
I chose this disposal canister as a better alternative for filled poop bags in the trash can which smelled pretty bad. This unit works very well in containing the odor so no more smelly trash can. I have 2 dogs and it holds several poop pickup bags of those nice stinky presents they leave in the yard for me. The unit is fairly well made, with one exception, which I found a workaround for. The clamp system that closes over the bag dispensing unit does not snap in place very well. It would not hold closed so I had to improvise by taking a small piece of the thin cardboard wrap that I removed from the canister and fold it so it was thick enough to help the too small nub that’s supposed to hold it down. I don’t know if this is a common problem with this item but even if only a few people have had it then it needs a rework by the designer/manufacturer. Other than this issue, I am still pleased with my purchase.
Works Great
We have several dogs and a lot of poop so we are able to keep this the garage with no smell. The opening to deposit stuff could be a bit larger but other than that love it.
Worst design I have ever encountered.
This is the worst design with poor instructions. It is one 20’ bag which they fail to tell you. I tried to pull it out - it kept coming - and then the whole thing fell apart. I am returning and do not recommend.
