Admittedly, she has a drinking problem--she likes to play in her water, probably partly because she's a golden. I sought solutions because I can't have her dumping her bowl. On the floor. In the house. I tried two things, this bowl and a stainless bowl that has a pump to keep the water circulating and running out of a small faucet, which I put on a shelf and showed her how to drink out of--that solution worked, while this one didn't. This bowl, when I attempted to get her to drink out of it, she viewed the floaty thing not as a deterrent to splashing but as a new toy for her to try to get out of the bowl, and so commenced a period of struggle while she--tail wagging furiously--tried every angle and position, until at last the floaty thing was freed and she ran off with it like it was her new baby, leaving a huge puddle around the bottom part of the bowl. It was hilarious. I nearly died. But it did not solve my problem. Luckily, that stainless bowl did. I gave it a second star for the comedy.
We love this bowl Finally a bowl that my cat cant splash all the water out of
This water bowl did not stand up with my cat. She dumped it within the first minute. Water everywhere
Just received this item. As soon as I put the bowl down my lab started pawing at the floating piece and splashed water everywhere. Not gonna work for us. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.
Tried this for my cats that like to have fresh water (usually by pawing at their other water containers) I thought this was going to be a good solution - but it really doesn't work. I've tried a couple different ways of using the floating piece and it just either sinks or it floats completely above the water not allowing any out of the center to fill the part the cats are supposed to drink out of. Would probably say skip it.
