Help your canine companion or feline friend fight unpleasant itching with Pet MD Benzoyl Peroxide Dog & Cat Shampoo. This powerful formula is designed to remove grease from fur and cleanse the skin, helping to relieve scaling and itching caused by skin infections like follicular plugging and seborrheic disorders in both cats and dogs. The soap-free shampoo contains benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid to reduce scaling on the skin. It can be used on the entire body or on smaller affected areas.
Made with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid to help remove scaly skin, which can lead to excessive itching and painful irritation.
Soap-free formula is gentle on your pet but powerful against bacteria–killing it on contact.
May be used on the whole body or on certain areas that exhibit dandruff, mange, seborrheic disorders and folliculitis, which is when the hair follicles become inflamed.
Gets deep in your pet’s pores to help flush impacted hair follicles.
Active Ingredients: Benzoyl Peroxide 3%, Sulfur 2%, Salicylic Acid 2%
Shake well before use. Wet the hair coat with warm water and apply a sufficient amount of shampoo to create a rich lather. Massage shampoo into wet hair coat, lather freely. Rinse and repeat. Allow shampoo to remain on hair for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. May be used initially 2 to 3 times a week for 4 weeks, then reducing to once a week, or as directed by your veterinarian.
I have a bulldog with extremely dry itchy skin. Her skin flakes and everything was covered with her flaky skin. I have tried many prescription medicated shampoos, rinses and supplements but nothing helped. Out of frustration I started doing my own research and came across this shampoo. After only two baths my pup’s skin has improved drastically. There’s still a small amount of flaking but the itching has stopped. Hopefully a few more baths and the problem will be solved. Another benefit, this shampoo is less costly than the prescription shampoos I was getting from the vet.

Stopped his tiny black bumps

I have only used this Shampoo twice. It does appear that his tiny black bumps disintegrated after use and he is scratching less. While it left his hair soft, it also left a smell that is not bad but not great ( thus the four stars). I will use it again because my dog is comfortable.

We got a boxer rescue that required more than a regular shampoo. We needed a medicated shampoo due to the patchy spots, crusty spots, and parasite infestation from the previous owner. We used this once along with a conditioner, not this brand, and he was finally able to stop scratching all night. I would recommend this product for animals that need a serious shampoo or for animals that have allergies.

Does Your Cat or Dog Scratch and Scratch, and Nothing Seems to Help???
on Jun 17, 2019
One of my cats, Phoenix, will get itchy spots, he scratches himself raw, and nothing seems to help his itching - even the medication from the vet. For years I used Sulfoxydex, but it is no longer made. I tried the Pet MD Benzoyl Peroxide Shampoo because it had the same ingredients of Benzoyl Peroxide, Sulfur, but with the added ingredient of Salicytic Acid. I applied it 2 times daily and then rinsed well for about a month, and Phoenix's self-inflicted wounds and itching have healed and he is feeling so much better!!! I would recommend this shampoo to anyone who has an animal with this problem. Pet MD works great!!!

I have used so many products , over the counter and prescription for my poor fur babies chin acne and nothing stop him from scratching until his chin was blooded. I used this product as soon as it was delivered and by the second day he wasn't scratching as much. After using it for the first week (3 ) times a week I saw a big change he stopped scratching and his chin started clearing up. I will definitely continue to used this and when I showed the product to his vet, she agreed that it was a great product. Thank you
