We own two 130+ pound 8yr old male ridge back littermates. Due to surgery as a puppy, one of them has incontinence issues if unable to go out every few hours, so overnight recently became a problem. Purchased an XL 3-pack of belly bands from pet parents. This product works as described and my furniture is now dry again! Be sure to leave enough slack when wrapping your pooch—leave it loose enough to stick your flat hand under the elastic. The belly band does not need to be super tight, especially the back edge of it because when the dog sits , they’re wider than when laying down or standing. The XL size on my big boys leaves a lot of exposed Velcro. So if your dog is larger than ours, it might not fit. I’m going to go buy some wide velcro strips to cover the exposed loops so they don’t fray or stick to anything he might be laying on. Naturally, my boy hates the belly band, but he doesn’t try to take it off. It doesn’t leak. Be sure to close it before you throw it in the washing machine and air dry it. We love this product!!!
These wraps are almost identical to another product I previously purchased via Chewy. These are not as thick as the other ones. As it turns out that is ok because I use them more as an outer layer and use a disposable inner layer with them when I need it to hold up overnight. The velcro on these and the other wraps is really strong and my dog can't get out of the wraps as he has done occasionally with the disposable ones. I also found matching covers that go over the excess velcro that is exposed (and sticks to everything). Extenders are also available to get the fit right; it would be nice if Chewy offered them.
Does Elon musk know about the Velcro you guys use? Because seriously we could just put some around each connective part of the space stations and just Velcro them in place and they would stay. My dog has bad hips and has become a little incontinent so that’s why we bought these. And when he sees a diaper coming he’s a runner. So you have to get it on there exactly right the first time or it’s like wrestling a hippopotamus in the wild in water over your head. I’m not trying to discourage anyone from purchasing this product. It’s awesome but just know that if your upper body strength isn’t up to par you’ll be sliding them on your dog like a skirt because there’s no way you’ll ever get this Velcro apart! But they do hold a ton of liquid and we would buy them again!!
These are beautiful, wide and adjustible but they are not for a dog with a 34" waist. I have a giant GSD and have been buying 31 inch disposables and extending them with masking tape to fit him. These should have fit but they are the same length as the disposables and the masking tape trick won't work since they are fabric. I thought my problem was solved, but now I am out the cost of a package since I tried to put one on him and he soiled it. I will stick with the disposables...
I am so pleased with these diapers for my dog. They fit well, conform to his body, hold a lot of urine, and most important, they don't leak--even overnight. They wash quite well, but I would not put them in the dryer. I wish I would have tried these earlier.
Bought the XL for my 80 lb aging incontinent husky. He measures about 31in at the waist measured as instructed. The XL is way too small I couldnt close the last strip with the top two barely attached and when he sat down it was way too tight I couldnt fit a finger between him and the band. I had such high hopes for this. He has really been struggling and this not fitting with no other larger options is heartbreaking. He is not even a truly big dog. Apologies for the punctuation this form does not accept commas or apostrophes.
Ordered for a Chihuahua and works well. He didn't like it at first but he's grown on it. The diaper was a tight fit at first but has seemed to stretch over time which has made it more comfortable.
My Lhaso mix recently had to start taking diaretic medicine for a heart condition. I would need to take him out every two to three hours around the clock so he wouldn't have accidents in the house. Not his fault, he is a very good boy but can't always hold it. I tried disposable diapers for male dogs for overnight but they would sometimes come off during the night so I tried Pet Parents reusable diapers and they solved all our problems. My little guy wears these for overnight and not only do they stay on but they are super absorbent and they are soft and cushy so they appear to be very comfortable for him. Easy to wash, I put them in a pillow case in the washer because of the velcro and lay flat to dry. Sizing is a little tricky. My dog is 25 lbs with a 22 inch waist but had to go to an XL for a proper fit. His measurements show he should wear a large but they were too small and tight. Overall a fantastic diaper and now my boy and I get 7 hours sleep a night without interruption! Thank you Pet Parents and Chewy!
The Belly Bands have given us piece of mind with our 11 year-old mini-schnauzer rescue, Merle. We are grateful! We also tried the disposable ones, too. The fabric ones fit better. Mere weighs 11-bs. & is a size small
We have a senior male cocker spaniel who honestly never fully understood potty rules. But as he got older, the 'accidents' were all too frequent, especially with other medical issues. The Belly Belts have been a lifesaver! We no longer worry about cleaning up any mess in the a.m. or anytime throughout the day. If he messes it, goes into the next wash. We have a supply on hand to rotate them out and the different colors makes our little guy a regular fashionista :)
