The perfect size for a dachshund!

FINALLY, a diaper for my little girl that ACTUALLY fits. She is a miniature dachshund, roughly 12 lbs, and I’ve always had the hardest time finding a diaper that fits her long, slender body. Originally I had ordered a size small and when it was delivered I was surprised it was huge and NO way would she FINALLY, a diaper for my little girl that ACTUALLY fits. She is a miniature dachshund, roughly 12 lbs, and I’ve always had the hardest time finding a diaper that fits her long, slender body. Originally I had ordered a size small and when it was delivered I was surprised it was huge and NO way would she be able to wear it. Emailed Chewy, they refunded my money and told me to donate it. So I ordered an XS, even though her measurements were within the “small” size, XS fits perfectly! … more

too big, could be much better designed

By aellath on Nov 1, 2021

having a 26-35" range for XL is not useful. My dog is nearly 90lbs and 29" tall. i based the size i needed on the diametre range of the diapers i have (a different brand and more expensive but otherwise almost identical, but i figured if i matched *dimension* instead of weight i'd be okay). Wrong having a 26-35" range for XL is not useful. My dog is nearly 90lbs and 29" tall. i based the size i needed on the diametre range of the diapers i have (a different brand and more expensive but otherwise almost identical, but i figured if i matched *dimension* instead of weight i'd be okay). Wrong - these diapers' straps overlap themselves almost fully around her waist, and *don't have any Velcro on the outside of either strap to allow for overlap to work*. In fact, there's not enough velcro on the straps to even allow the straps to meet in the middle and still have the edges of the flap secured (three inches of velcro from the end of the strap, but the flap uses six inches of strap if both meet in the middle). The elastic gathers in the leg-holes are only about six inches long when relaxed (not stretched) and stops at the tail-hole, rather than extending all the way up the flap. So now i have leg-holes i could fit a whole second thigh into because above the tail the flap just sags open. These do not fit large/tall dogs with thin waists - in other words, dogs with non-standard conformations. All of this means these diapers will not prevent leaks of any sort. i am being forced to either pleat or add snaps to the flap (which the other diapers have to customise fit either by making it shorter or narrower) and hunting up velcro to add more to the straps. ps - *curious - WHY in the world are the straps that face *down* against the dog's body the scratchy hooks? Wouldn't it be more logical to have the hooks on the flap where they won't scratch or pull fur? … more
