I truly can’t say if this worked or not. We had it plugged in for 1 day and it stunk really bad (like stinky feet) that we had to unplug it. Going to try it once more. This might be great for some but we are very sensitive. It definitely is different than the normal plug ins, It’s thick and dark brown in color and obviously has a smell unlike the others.

  • I Had Super High Hopes

My dog ate this out of the wall the first night I plugged it in, so I don't think it calmed her down. We've had wall plug ins before and she's never messed with them but maybe this attracted her. However it did have a nice floral smell and so did she after she ate it and made a mess

  • May or may not be working

    By on

Got this because I added a new kitty to a one kitty home. Not real sure if it's helping or not...she's acting territorial and all as expected. Perhaps it's less than it would have been, idk. It does smell weird, which hasn't dissipated after a couple weeks.

  • Give This A Try

    By on

I was skeptical that a diffuser would have an impact on my two dogs, especially when the diffuser was going to be used in a large room, but I took the plunge and am glad I did. I purchased this for my dog who had just come home from having emergency surgery. I wanted him to be as relaxed as possible keeping him from roaming around and possibly adding to his injuries. Within 30 minutes of plugging it in both of my dogs were sound asleep. I was able to go about my day without them trailing behind me and I am convinced the diffuser works. They seem to notice when I don’t have it on. They will sit or stand by the outlet. I recommend giving it a try, it helped my pets and did not trigger any allergies I was skeptical that a diffuser would have an impact on my two dogs, especially when the diffuser was going to be used in a large room, but I took the plunge and am glad I did. • This DID NOT work for MY PETS

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I am sorry to say this did not work for my pets. It is not to say it will not work for other pets as each one is different. I bought two of these diffusers. One for one of my cats that has a behavioral problem with the litter box. Well she is still peeing and pooping on the floor. The other one I bought for my dogs I put the diffuser in their dog room and unfortunately I come home to chewed up dog beds every time I leave. I so wished they worked for my pets but they did not.

After using it for a week I never noticed a calming affect on my 1 year old pup. I can't smell it but he did right away.

  • OK ... I'm sold ... this stuff works

I wanted to wait a couple weeks before reviewing this to see if it worked. It does for us, without a doubt. Some will hate the scent, some won't mind it. My advice is to try this for the first time in a large open room/area. It's made for a space of about 650 sq ft. At first, I tried it in a small office. It was very strong even with the door open & the total space of the entire floor being around 650 sq ft, so I moved it to our main floor (open kitchen/dining/living room). Much better, & we only get a faint whiff of the scent occasionally. So we have Pet Remedy on the 1st floor & Feliway on the 2nd. The difference is remarkable. Our skittish cat is still a bit of a scaredy cat, but comes downstairs I wanted to wait a couple weeks before reviewing this to see if it worked. It does for us, without a doubt. Our skittish cat is still a bit of a scaredy cat, but comes downstairs more often; but the biggest change is that the other cat, the alpha, doesn't bully her downstairs as she occasionally did over fav. spots (or humans). We're going to buy another of these when our Feliway supply gets low, but I'll put the current one upstairs & the new one in the large room. It's possible the smell is stronger the first couple of days. One piece of advice about ALL of these diffusers (this, Feliway, Comfort Zone, etc), you can't leave them unplugged for more than about a minute without the wick getting clogged and ruined. You can't let it cool and then reheat again. If your power goes out, you need to replace with a new refill. I advise carefully removing the wick & saving the liquid (always save the caps from new refills). I've been able to do that with a couple of refills to make one full refill & then removing the wick from the current one when it gets down to 2/3 empty & popping the wick onto the full refill you collected. You have to do it very carefully, but fast (I've been able to pry them off by using a knife). If you change one to another room, unplug it and move it immediately! Best part is these bottles supposedly last for 2 months. Based on how much has been used in this bottle so far, that seems accurate. Definitely give this a try, but understand that the scent can't be judged by others' reviews. I'm used to it now, so am going to try it in the smaller room again. We'll eventually be trying the spray in their carriers when vet visit time rolls around again. … more

  • Smells bad and does not work

This product did not seem to work at all. It smells really bad and it leaks. I will stick with Febreze plug-ins.

  • No odor detected by human nose

    By on

I used this plug-in and during a move and transition for my single cat as she aquainted my room mate's cat. No strange smell, and I enjoyed the seal it provided to prevent leaks. However, the plug turned upside down and the fluid leaked anyways. My shy cat was more social before the move while it was plugged in. I dont know if it helped her with room mate cats.

Has a strange odor if you don't know what valerian smells like. But it does seem to work in my household.
