I LOVE this Self-Cleaning Litter Box!

By MichelleB on Nov 16, 2021

Hey cat-loving friends! I was in search of a self-cleaning litter box and read HUNDREDS of reviews before settling on this Pet Zone Smart Scoop! I've had it for 2 months now and I absolutely love it, and most importantly, my 3 cats love it too! They love to watch it run its cycle. I tried a few different Hey cat-loving friends! I've had it for 2 months now and I absolutely love it, and most importantly, my 3 cats love it too! They love to watch it run its cycle. I tried a few different litters with it and found that it works best with a light litter like the Garfield corn and cassava litter. My cats have stopped using their 3 other boxes and head right to this box every time. I'll likely buy a second Smart Scoop and ditch the other boxes completely. I have found that it drastically cuts down on any litter box smells and greatly reduces the constant box scooping! If you're in search of an awesome self-cleaning box that cuts way down on the amount of scooping you do each day, check this box out! … more

    Doesn't last very long. :(

I purchased this in late Aug but due to moving, I didn't get it ready to use until the beginning of Oct. Now I have a regular non self-cleaning cat litter box that was quite expensive for what it does. :( 2 stars are because it worked for a few months. … more

    Easy to adapt to.

My owner likes the way I took right to this litter box. Instead of emptying it every day, my mom only has to empty every week. It does leave little pebble like pieces but overall we like it.

    Great litter box!!!!

    By on

First time using an automatic, got it for the new kitty but I have to wait until she gains more weight for the box to be really useful. Right now she's only 4 pounds and it doesn't trigger the cleaning devise. (I didn't read it was not intended for kittens) but I am sure she'll grow into it and in the mean time I just push the trigger myself and it is so good to have all the litter in the drawer!!!

I just wish you could buy parts, this is my second one. I like it bacuse it has a pan that you can empty and you dont need bags. The first one after yeats striped ots metal gear. I emailed support they asked where i bought it i said chewey and it was a gift sent photos asked yp buy a gear or motor and they went silent.... after weeks of the box not working i had to buy a mew one. This one is very quiet im sure it will also strip a gear buy i hope it last a few years.

Have had litter box for several years

    By on

I have had my Smart Scoop for 5-6 years and the only reason I need to buy a new one is that the bottom is cracking. I have 2 big cats, and they produce a lot of waste. Yes it does not scrape the bottom of the tray and I have to scoop the pan regularly but I do not find it a problem. The one thing I like about the Smart Scoop is that they have a reusable waste pan. The disposable pans on some of the auto litter boxes can be expensive and hard to get out. All that is needed for the Smart Scoop is a plastic bag the fits the size of the pan, the plastic grocery bags with handles work great, I usually use 2 bags inside each other for strength, and usually only need to change it every other day. Smart Scoop is not perfect but neither am I, I have have been known to miss a few days before cleaning out the box, but let me tell you I have tried several different makes and models over the years, and none are prefect or let you go for a week or so without some type of clean up. If there is such a litter box it is probably more expensive than I am willing to pay. So I will stay with Smart Scoop not because it is the best ever litter box but it does what I need it to do. Thank you and God bless. … more

It works, but not the best for multi-cats

    By on

It works to an extent. You still have to scoop. I scoop daily because the urine still sinks to the bottom especially if you have cats that like to go in the corner. I have to empty the bin daily. I have 3 cats and also have 2 litter robots. Unfortunately, I have a semi-feral cat that is afraid to go in the robot so all the cats use this litter box, and the two will use the robots as well. The robots are great and I wouldn't have this one if my 3rd cat would use the robots. But it still makes life easier than if I didn't have this one.

    Cheap motor!

    By on

I bought this smart scoop on cyber Monday 2019. A year later I bought another one because the internal gears broke and the motor stopped. Now (less than 5 months later) the motor is broken and stuck on so its burning its self out. I have to keep it unplugged and just remember to plug it in, to do its scooping job. The motor on these are not made to last. Not worth the money.
