    Potential vomit inducer

    By on

I wish I'd given more credence to the earlier reviews about this causing some people's cats to vomit. I tried giving this to my senior cat. He and the younger cat both turned up their noses at it when I first attempted to serve according to the directions. The next day I tried adding some to a bisque treat, and my senior cat did eat it. A few moments later, he vomited violently, and then proceeded to continue vomiting as he ran through the house. This was not normal vomiting - this was violent and followed up by lots of dry-heaving. I've never seen my cat dry heave before, and never want to see that again.

    Our kitty LOVES this!

    By on

We are using this to supplement our older kitty's caloric intake. As he's aged, he started losing some weight due to being a bit more finicky in what he will eat. He now prefers canned food over dry food. Because canned food has water in it, animals don't maintain/gain weight as well as with dry food. We now mix (aka "sneak!") a little dry food in with his canned food. Once he's eaten all he will eat of that, we give him the CatSure. It's (one) of his treats! To get an idea if he would like the CatSure/vanilla flavor, we gave him a small spoonful of melted vanilla ice cream prior to ordering this product. He loved it! :-) If your kitty likes vanilla ice cream, maybe s/he will like We are using this to supplement our older kitty's caloric intake. (just FYI - Milk isn't recommended for cats) The mixing information and amount a can of CatSure will yield listed online is a bit confusing. However, directions on the label are very clear. This is to be mixed at a 1:1 ratio. The can suggests the following feeding rates: 5 lb. cat - 3/4 - 7/8 cup per day, 10 lb. cat - 1 1/3 - 1 1/2 cups per day and a 15 lb. cat - 1 2/3 - 2 cups per day. I assume these suggested amounts are for a full meal replacement. Since we are only supplementing, we give smaller portions 3-4 times per week. One 4-ounce can of formula yields approx. 16 ounces once mixed with water. … more

Gets clumpy and cats don't like it

    By on

The first day I got it, cats seemed to like it but when trying to make other batches of this stuff, following the directions of a 1 to 1 ratio by the next couple days, cats didn't want it anymore. It didn't dissolve like it did the first day and it got super clumpy. Instead of warm water, I had to use hot water to even get most of the clumps to separate and mix in but even then there were still clumps of this stuff floating around. I wanted this stuff to be good but it wasn't for me.

    MY CATS LOVE THIS

    By on

you cannot tell rather each cat will love anything so as with people your cat may or may not like this product but mine loved it...they like a vanilla taste ...a few grumpy cat types just won't take anything good for them hehe ...and sometimes a cat won't like something for other reasons ...but that said, this is a good product and helps cats gain some weight when needed...not a bad price as well. Some wonderful cat owner here hoped it would help their cat and said this product or the write up is misleading because it has to be mixed with water: ... but it says on the cover that you must mix with water...I gave their comment a thumbs up to comfort them since I think they are upset because maybe you cannot tell rather each cat will love anything so as with people your cat may or may not like this product but mine loved it...they like a vanilla taste ...a few grumpy cat types just won't take anything good for them hehe ...and sometimes a cat won't like something for other reasons ...but that said, this is a good product and helps cats gain some weight when needed...not a bad price as well. Not helpful— made my cat vomit!

    By on

I have an elderly cat who has been losing weight and wanted to add this to his diet to encourage some weight gain. He has not been vomiting, but after a few licks of this immediately started gagged and then threw up over & over for the next 20 min. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. This is the opposite of what I needed this food for!

    He loves it!!!

    By on

My 16 yo baby Zoey Keegan loves it! I kind of knew he would, since when he was younger he loved vanilla icing and ice cream. He's been declining, and has some heart issues too, so we're doing everything we can to keep him going and keep his weight up. His regular diet is the Weruva Jeopurrdy licious in the pouches, plus we rotate a few other soft pate foods to keep him from getting too bored or burned out. We offer food around 5-6 times a day, and my computer desk has become a food and water station, since it's his favorite place to nap. The Catsure will be a wonderful addition, and it makes me so happy to see how much he enjoys it!

    Horrible! Can cause vomiting.

My cat vomited uncontrollably several times after drinking Catsure. It's not good for cats with sensitive stomachs.

    Helped My Friend's Cat

    By on

I bought this for 2 reasons, my cat who loves vanilla ice cream and yogurt who was on antibiotics for quite a while and had less appetite and a friend's cat who was having worse digestive issues. My cat unfortunately wouldn't eat it after the first 2 days (my 4 healthy boys wanted to) but thankfully my friend's cat would. Her cat was having digestive issues, throwing everything back up, lost an alarming amount of weight, and quit eating. She was seeing a vet and had special foods and fortiflora probiotics with little improvement. As a last ditch effort I bought this and her cat loved it. This was the only thing she would eat and she seemed less lethargic and didn't lose anymore weight for a while I bought this for 2 reasons, my cat who loves vanilla ice cream and yogurt who was on antibiotics for quite a while and had less appetite and a friend's cat who was having worse digestive issues. I would definitely recommend giving it a try. … more

    My Baby Loves

    By on

After reading the reviews, I figured I would try it on my 13+ old baby girl Ziggy. Got the product today and tried just a tablespoon of it to see if she would like it. Needless to say I had to mix her a bit more, which I wasn’t doing fast enough for her liking. She has lost weight in the past few years and she didn’t eat/drink that much. Hopefully she will continue to drink this and gain a little bit of weight.
