With my cats (cats ages 6, 4, 2,2,2,2,2 yrs 6mths, 6mths, ...8yrs.. dog) it starts working in about ten minutes- the licking, scratching, fleas dying. Just remember to vaccuum up the tiny carcasses, attempt to bath with flea shampoo, treat with 30 day treatment ( I'm trying to train mine to let me vacuum them). VACUUM, VACUUM, VACUUM. It also helps destroy the eggs and juvenile fleas. Because when you see one flea on your furbaby..a minimum of 80-120 eggs are just waiting for the opportunity to hatch. sprinkle Diatomaceous earth around any nook or cranny where cat visits, the eggs roll off with each step cat takes. Run bedding through 10 minute dryer cycle high heat.... Here's how I give said pill to my nine cat's ( label the pills pkt with said name of cat....so I don't dbl dose) place cat on firm surface head facing away, scruff it ( pretend your the moma cat and your moving it), use you dominant hand to apply very very gentle pressure to slightly open cats mouth, insert pill ( swiftly and beware TEETH)while still holding cat facing away raise head, gently rub the throat a few times, blowing gently on their face. Yeah, they don't really like that the blowing but it causes them swallow. I'd suggest that you administer the pill in bathroom ( sometimes they escape. I have two that are hiders, so I usually dose them first, to dose 9 cats and one dog it takes me an average of another ten minutes. If you have a scratcher gently wrap in towel with just head showing, and follow above directions. Or try chicken baby food hidding pill ( ½ tsp) usually works. … more

  • WORKs pretty good

Had known better about this, I would have bought this stuff rather than all the other stuff. I have spent well over $200 trying to get fleas under control. This is a tablet form, kinda spendy for 6 pills, but it works!!! Sad news about it though, it works....just for about a day or two. It doesn't stop/help with reinfestation or whatever. Wish the effect lasted for a weeK for this price. I have had to give my 4 cats a pill, every other day. Really expensive, but then again, had I known before I would have saved money in the long run.

  • effective on both cats and dogs

they were effective, however, getting 2 cats to swallow them was not an easy task. They are very small pills, but still ended up with scratches all over me. Maybe if they were a flavored chew able, it would have been easier to administer to the cats. (the dogs were easy, just put in a pill pocket or wrap in a piece of cheese... but cats are a different story all together).

  • Kills fleas fast

I have been fighting fleas for several weeks and was at my wits' end. Giving the cats Frontline, spraying, flea baths, etc. Still seemed to have them. Gave the cats these pills and I think it did the trick - they really slowed down on scratching. So these plus spraying worked.

  • Added to food

Altho it is only effective for 24 hours, this product works well for the cats which won't wear a collar or allow you to rub in a topical product. Dissolved in a little tuna juice, they gobble it up.

  • I would buy again

Although only one of my cats ate the pill mixed with wet food, the fleas were gone on him within 4-5 hours. I did give them a natural spray treatment as well and used a flea comb afterwords then followed with a spot treatment after they were dry.

My dog, the only pet in our home suddenly became infested with fleas. We figure she picked them up on her walks. This pill is safe to use with topical preventatives & really worked fast.

  • IT WORKS!!!

    By on

I bought this only for my 2 cats and Chihuahua in mind. We've had a major outbreak in fleas since the hurricane hit here in Southeast Texas. I forgot to order some for my 3 other dogs (3 Staffordshire Terriers) weighing over what the package calls for, however, it works on them too! I am so happy! We are right now in the stage of itching and excessive grooming due to the fleas dying. But I am seeing way fewer in the 30 minutes since they've had the pill and it is working so nicely. This seems to work just as well as the Capstar for immediate control of infestations.
