This Easy Dog Treat Recipe Is Sure to Score a Touchdown

Whether you’re cheering for your favorite team while sporting face paint or watching the game around a snack-filled table, the Super Bowl is a great time to gather with friends and celebrate the big game! Though staple finger foods are a party favorite and a yummy treat for us, they aren’t so great for our pooches. Give your pup his own game day DIY dog treat with this quick and easy dog treat recipe made just for him!

Ingredients

Supplies

  • Baking sheet
  • Measuring cup
  • Football-shaped cookie cutter
  • Mixing spoon
  • 2 plastic baggies
  • Large mixing bowl

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Bake time: 20 minutes
Total time: 30 minutes
Yield: 10-12 treats

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350˚
  2. Crush enough Stella & Chewy’s Chewy’s Chicken Dinner Patties to fill 1 packed cup.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the patties with Fruitables Chicken Broth Bowls Dog Food Topper, rice flour and 1/3 cup peanut butter.
  4. Knead the dough, and press onto a baking sheet.
  5. Using the football-shaped cookie cutter, cut out shapes from the dough, and space them out on the baking sheet to form your DIY dog treats.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the cookies from the oven, and allow them to cool.
  8. Fill one plastic baggie with the remaining peanut butter from the dog cookie recipe and the other with the Greek yogurt.
  9. Cut the tips off of the plastic baggies, starting with the peanut butter, and pipe the peanut butter onto each of the DIY dog treats.
  10. Next, using the Greek yogurt baggie, pipe on the white football detailing and laces for some DIY dog treats that are sure to get your pooch’s tail wagging.
  11. Serve to your eagerly awaiting #1 football (treat) fans.
