SETUP:
PLACEMENT: We recommend placing Petcube Cam on a table or shelf at least 3 feet above the floor. Consider a location that allows for maximum coverage through wide angle lens. It’s always a good idea to point Cam in the direction where your pets tend to spend most of their time.
Table or shelf top: Petcube Cam has a non-slip rubber bottom, which provides a secure grip on flat surfaces. Camera tilt can be adjusted manually for a better viewing angle. Hooks at the foot allow to fold the cord firmly.
Mounting: The device can be placed on a wall or a shelf bottom. Petcube Cam comes with a metal plate and a mounting tape. Mount the plate in the desired location and the camera foot will magnetically snap to it. It also works with other metallic surfaces.
I do not recommend. Not only does in not function like it should (settings reset, slow to load video, night vision doesn’t work properly) it also clicks every time you watch the video, which wakes our dog up or startles him. THEN I started hearing it clicking on and off randomly without us opening the app, so now we feel like we’re being watched. We’re upgrading to a better quality camera.
definitely better choices for cameras out there. if you want to have clips recorded or even be notified of motion activity you have to pay $5.99 a month. and conveniently they don’t mention the cheaper $3.99 plan at any point until you decide to cancel. i only wanted these 2 features and was WAY overpaying for them. & most of the time the notifications were false alarms no matter how much i fiddled with the sensitivity. just not worth it :/
When it works, it's great, but that's only about 25% of the time. There was a long time where I couldn't hear my pets. I talked to customer service and they fixed that issue, but unfortunately it doesn't stop there. A lot of the time, the video won't load. According to other reviews, this is a recurring issue. I've done all the troubleshooting they provide and it doesn't always work. I guess that's what they mean when they say "you get what you pay for". I recommend shopping elsewhere for something more reliable, even if it means spending a bit more.
Got these hoping they would be nice but they let out a loud screeching noise whenever I go into the app and it scares my pets. They don’t stay connected very well either
The camera is ok but keeps reverting to default settings of making a loud noise at full blast every time I check on the dogs. I keep turning the volume as far down as possible and deselecting the tab for “let camera play a sound” but after a while it just goes back to how it was of disturbing the dogs and getting them worked up every time I check to see how they’re doing.
Don’t waste your time on this device. Difficult to set up, difficulty connecting to internet, difficulty trying to allow family members access to the camera. We had it set up once and then needed to move the camera so then it needed to be set up again and it absolutely would not connect up again!! Super frustrating and not reliable!
This was very easy to set up and get on line. It is small and compact but has a great field of vision. My only regret is that it is pretty linear so you can see what is in front of the camera and a little to the sides but for the price, it is a great deal.
Tried for days to get it to work. Said my Wi-Fi was "too fast". Spent hours on the phone with provider and could not do anything. The company itself offered ZERO help and didn't even respond to email.
I just brought this petcam for my cat 1st Christmas. I opened it up on Christmas day and started it up as soon as I talked into the device the sound was muffled and echoing. I really would like to return this item because at this point there's no use for it if I cant even call my son by his name and he understand it
