Are you supposed to use the silicon covers when the collar is on your dog?

The silicone covers protect your dog from direct contact with the metal contact points, which in some cases causes discomfort. We recommend the contact points and silicone covers are installed on the collar when the dog wears the collar.
can this be use on larger dogs?

Great product!

Simple and easy to use. My dog is in week #2, and have only had to use the tone and vibrate buttons. She knows now that the tone means change your way. I love it and is keeping her focused on her commands.

Good inexpensive training collar

my small dog was a puller! very unpleasant to take for walks. Tried everything, including a prong collar. This collar works! It can be set to only vibrate, and the 1st and 2nd level are similar to a cell phone vibration. That's all my dog needs. There is a function to turn of shock, so it won't shock accidentally.

Correction collar

Love this collar. You can't accidently shock the dog if you lock it. It needs a neck strap on it tho.

Poor quality

Worked for 2 days then 9 mo lab puppy showed no response to it. Had it on most powerful setting. Wasted my money. Had to go to pet store to purchase one 3 times the amount. You get what you pay for.

dog trainer

I have 11 month lab puppy that is a fireball no one can walk her she's a very small lab but solid muscle! I got this so perhaps i will be able to actually walk her once she gets used to it! this collar is terrific! I looked at the other more expensive ones and see no difference except the cost so all I need to do is put the collar on a table or counter and she stops all of her bad habits! just with the buzzer I didn't buy it to electrocute her but she does do a lot of bad things and just to make her stop all I need to do is buzz it and she stops!

Works well

This works as advertised. Does not however deter my dog from doing something if he wants to, even on level 16. Your results may be better.

Amazing results

I was hesitant to try this because my dog has very thick fur and I was worried this might not be affective. I have been using the vibrate setting on 1 and he stops what he is doing immediately and learns very quickly. I am very impressed.

Didnt last

One of the prongs fell off and disappeared after one week. I have to constantly check for looseness. My pup doesnt respond to the shock at all. He responds most to the beep. I have a 60 lb standard poodle. Maybe this works better for smaller dogs.

Gets the job done

This collar works well with my 70lb giant schnauzer. It helps to get his attention during training or to stop him from making bad choices. We rarely use the shock setting, because the vibration and beeping settings work so well for him.

Trainer collar DOESN'T hold the charge I have to charge it every day and yes when not in use it is turned off.
