    I was on the fence ordering this thing for something automated to entertain my cats while we keep busy everyday because I haven’t had luck with automated toys in the past. It’s relatively expensive for an iffy toy, and sure enough, after I unboxed it, my cats stared and kept their distance. A couple I was on the fence ordering this thing for something automated to entertain my cats while we keep busy everyday because I haven’t had luck with automated toys in the past. It’s relatively expensive for an iffy toy, and sure enough, after I unboxed it, my cats stared and kept their distance. A couple seemed interested but would not approach it. What a letdown, right? But I decided to wait and try it a few times. It is very noisy. I decided to turn it on again while preparing their dinner. Because they were hungry I hoped prey drive would activate and make them more interested, and it worked! Two out four cats enjoy playing with it in the kitchen while they wait for their meals in the morning and night. If I’m one room over, and this thing is on, I can’t hear my kid talking to me. The light seems useless except to tell me it’s on. I guess it’s supposed to be pretty for humans, but I wonder if it hurts my cats’ eyes in an otherwise dark room. It doesn’t offer much in the way of exercise as they sit and bat at it, but it does offer mild mental stimulation in what can sometimes be considered a dull indoors environment. It does not come with freebie batteries, so have 2 AA’s ready. Rechargeables seem to work fine. … more
