Very pleasantly surprised
We have a bulldog mix who is constantly hot and panting. I was skeptical but needed something to put on the couch that she could lay on without getting hot. As soon as I opened the package, I was impressed. Not only is it cool, but it's very comfortable. The dog loves it and we're ordering another (large this time) for the bedroom.
Comfy blanket
This blanket seems comfortable for my dog to have in her crate. It is not very fluffy, though, so if you want to have a more cushioned blanket, get a big size to allow for folding and having more cushion.
THESE DO WORK
They do have a cooling feel and wash well over n over. My large dog hates fluffy sleeping lol & this fit the bill. I lay it on carpet.
Great product
I was on the fence about getting this blanket, thinking, does it really work. I have an older Bulldog with health issues, one is being hot. I decided to get it and I am glad that I did and I should of ordered one a long time ago. She she is actual sleeping better at night with it on her bed.
not so hot
While the cooling blanket is cool to the touch, it does warm up fairly soon with the body heat of our little dog--who won't voluntarily lay on the blanket. Our cat doesn't care for hers, either. While I still think it is a good idea, maybe for larger dogs or for those constantly subject to overheating, I can't recommend it.
I'm Impressed
I didn't expect this blanket to really be a "cooling" blanket. Boy was I surprised. It's exceptionally cool and although my puppy, who I purchased it for, doesn't have much use for it, my two cats love it. They've also commandeered the cooler woven fabric bed I ordered for summer, again for the puppy. Even though the puppy is a mini she loves the medium sized beds so she can stretch out. Thank you, Chewy, for giving me so many options.
Collie-approved for naps!
My Collies have a tough time staying cool while napping on their dog beds in the summer and usually have to resort to sleeping on the tile floor. I bought one of these to try making their beds cooler and more tolerable. The blanket is super soft and definitely feels cool (not cold) to the touch, and it’s machine washable, which is a must for dog bedding! So far, the Collies seem to really like it, and I’ll probably buy another one in the future.
Does what it says
This thing is really cool to the touch. My pom would rarely sleep in his bed in his crate because he preferred the cold tile on the floor, but when we put this blanket into his bed, he started using it all the time!
My fur baby is so happy
So we have had quite a few heat waves this summer. I ordered this blanket because our apartment can still feel warm even with the AC running. Our kitty adores napping on it, he looks like Linus from Peanuts, because it gives him some security when I leave the room.
Not cooling
Initially the blanket was cool to the touch. After about an hour my Great Dane was panting and uncomfortable. It trapped his body heat and was cold on the outer corners.
