    Our dogs love Petguard!

    By on

We have tried several flavors since switching to Petguard and our herd pretty much likes them all. So happy we stumbled across this brand and super glad Chewy delivers it to us! This Chicken Stew is moist but not soupy at all and has hearty small chunks of vegetables.

    Vet recommended

    By on

My Vet publishes a list of recommended dog food every 6 months or so. Since I want to give my pups the best I pay attention to this list. Pet Guard is right at the top, so that's my choice. My pups love it. <3

2 cases and both very "soupy"

    By on

I really hate to write a poor review on any Petguard food, as I've trusted this brand for years. We purchased this formula in the past and it was fine, the dogs loved it. But the last shipment, the food was very soupy, not like a stew, but rather runny and slimy. It had a lot of oil floating on the top of the product. Chewy sent us another case, but unfortunately, that was the same thing. Not feeling this was a Chewy problem, I contacted PetGuard. They asked for the lot number, and then tested the food and said it was safe to consume and there was nothing wrong with it, however, they did say they were going to send me another case with a different lot number. They never did, so I have to leave I really hate to write a poor review on any Petguard food, as I've trusted this brand for years. They never did, so I have to leave a review based on the food we received. This is one of their more expensive formulas, and we expected much more out of it. Needless to say, we'll be switching to another brand, which really does make us sad since we have trusted this company for so long. But they didn't fix a wrong and this definitely was not stew in gravy. … more

Chewy is a fantastic company to deal with

    By on

I was lucky to find Chewy on the internet several years ago. They have many of the dog foods that my vet recommends and the prices are great. Two of the things that I find especially helpful is the fact that the products I order arrive in 2 days and also that they are available for orders 24/7. I have 3 dogs that I order for and the representatives are extremely pleasant and helpful. We use Pedigree canned food as recommended by our Vet.

    Excellent food

    By on

I was very hesitant to order the Chicken Stew, even though I really love the other flavors in the Petguard line-up. I thought I'd be getting a lot of gravy instead of solid food. I was wrong. This is a nice solid loaf style food, with potatoes in the mix. It smells very good and my 2 dogs seem to love it. Thank you Petguard. You've never disappointed us.

    my dog loves it

Before using PetGuard, we had to entice our picky dog to eat. She loves it and her allergies seem to be better as well. I love that it's good for her and not full of fillers. I'm thrilled that Chewy's carries this brand as it is hard to find.

    no carrageenan

They like it. It seems to have a bit more oil than Barley and Turkey, not too much. It is blended like meatloaf except for small chunks of potato. It blends well with kibble. It smells good.

    Very tasty and healthful!

I have been feeding PetGuard dry and cans for years in my rotation. This is the first time I tried this flavor and the dogs love it. It mixes well with dry food as well. All four of my dogs' tummies agree that this is a great food.

    Seems good

My fussy eater eats this. He has been eating this brand all his life...and he is now 16 1/2 years....so something must be working. Yes, this is more expensive than "store" brands, but I believe it is well worth it.

My dog loves it and so do I!

My dog has had multiple issues for years (vomiting, itching, crystal and even stones). A vet recommended this product, which we even dilute with water. My dog is feeling better than she has in years.
