We have a cat who started barbering when being abused at his last home. We tried prescription medication and quite a few OTC treatments for it, but nothing worked. Now we give him one or two of these treats anytime he's anxious or barbering. The barbering stops, his anxiety fades, and he usually starts napping. We are super grateful to find a way to stop the unfortunate barbering.
We have three cats and I can honestly say that all of them rather enjoy these treats- As much as the Temptations! They definitely work, too. One night, our wildest cat got one of the other cat’s portion, and he was so conked out that I wish I had trimmed his claws- he probably wouldn’t have noticed. While these seem to take effect for only about 12 hours, I’d still recommend for daily or situational use.
got these for my anxious cat he won’t touch them but the other cats love them. unfortunate that the anxious one wont eat them bc he needs something to chill him out. also i’m not sure how much the calming affect actually works, it’s hard to say bc the other cats are already pretty chill
These work! I bought 2 bags based on reviews and will be getting more! I gave half the recommended amnt and my boy and he is so chill and relaxed. I only give them when I can tell he’s restless on occasion but I highly recommend. Think.. Chilaxxxxx for cats!
Our cat was exhibiting some anxious behaviors and after reading reviews we decided to try these. I’ve combined his diet with Pro Plan Calming Supplement so I’m not sure exactly what does the trick, but he is much calmer now! These are also to give him since he loves the flavor. Your cat will probably love them too! Recommended!
My Melo has developed hyperthyroidism & it makes all of us Crazy! He gallops thru this house like his tail is on fire & whatever is terrorizing him, he takes out on poor Kiki. He'll generally eat Anything that crosses his face.....except these treats!!! For some reason, he just doesn't Get that they're edible! He sniffs at them, mouthed One & promptly spit it out (but eats dust balls like they're dessert!!). Kiki tried a couple but she's Already pretty laid back (except where he's involved!) so I'd rather not feed them to her. Maybe they work for other nervous Nellie cats but unfortunately not mine.
My cats have always refused to eat treats. I got this one because it was for calming. They go bonkers for it. Now every crinkle they hear gets them excited. It has helped calm the cat who was stressed about cats outside.
I have a kitty who is scared when it storms. If I give her these treats, that she thinks are delicious, an hour or so before it storms they help her relax and stay calm. Great product! We all love Chewy.
I finally found a calming treat Abbey will eat! She doesn't rush to eat them like regular treats but she will eat them. I give them to her when it storms an when outside noise is too loud. They are putting in new sewer lines in front of my building and it gets loud.
Unfortunately my cat wouldn't eat these, so I can't speak to the effectiveness. Best I could get from him was a couple licks. They do have a funky odor, which I would think would appeal to him since he likes rubbing on stinky shoes, but he wasn't interested.
