  • 3 dogs don't like it (breed poodle)

    By on

I am sure it is a good product, but three poodles won't eat it. If anyone out there can tell me what picky poodles want to eat, do let me know. They love the frozen tripe I buy from another company.

  • Health Benefits Out Weigh Negatives

My dog loves this product so much he barley eats his Acana dry food. He seems to be thriving well with this addition to his diet. Many people complained about the smell of this product to the point that I was worried that my family would complain. But I have found that while this product does smell similar to poop, the smell does not travel. One must lean in and take a whiff to smell it.

  • No, GSDs dont like. Synthetic smell.

    By on

This tripe has a strong smoky, bbq type additive smell. My two GSDs do not like it. They will not eat their food when I add it to it. I've had to throw it out a few times. Very different to the other tripe flavors, which they love. Won't buy again.

  • Disgusting Odor to this food!

    By on

I hate to send a bad review but this has nothing to do with chewy.com. This is the nastieat smelling dog food i have ever come across. It smells like poop. I only opened 2 cans because the 2nd time neither of my dogs would touch it. Had to throw that feeding away. Maybe it's healthy but it stinks so bad, i wanted to vomit at the smell. Ugh.

  • My cocker spaniel loves this

    By on

Well, my dog loves this stinky stuff. He waits anxiously for me to mix his food then chows down. I use about a tablespoon mixed with his dry food. Mind you it smells like a barnyard in the general vicinity of his bowl but as long as he eats, I'm happy. I even freeze some in bite size pieces and use these as treats. He is a super picky eater with IBD and it works great for him.

  • PetKind Bison Tripe

    By on

My 3 girls (2 Westies and a Scottie) love this! I love that it does not contain Carrageenan. The smell is not overwhelming but the dogs can smell it and come running. I feed this as a supplement to a freeze dried raw diet and alternate it with various raw ground meats which makes the price more affordable for me. I will definitely be buying this again.

  • Not a Good Choice for My Dogs

I have 3 dogs, one is a diabetic Rottie, one is a large Boxer who has had at least one bout of pancreatitis and the other is also a large Boxer, who is just a little too "fluffy". I've been using the Petkind Salmon for a topper because of the low fat content. All the dogs loved it. I wanted to give them some variety, so although the Bison Tripe was double the fat, I decided to give it a try. I opened the first can and it was smelly, no problem, I've fed tripe before so I expected that. What I didn't expect was how greasy it was. It wasn't a layer of fat or anything, just a greasy shine. And the spoon I was using to serve it had to be cleaned in really hot water, with lots of soap to feel clean I have 3 dogs, one is a diabetic Rottie, one is a large Boxer who has had at least one bout of pancreatitis and the other is also a large Boxer, who is just a little too "fluffy". And the spoon I was using to serve it had to be cleaned in really hot water, with lots of soap to feel clean. After seeing this, I didn't even feed it to my dogs. I dumped it out, washed the bowls and gave them the Salmon. I think my dogs would have loved it, and I know Petkind is good food, but I just wasn't comfortable feeding all that grease to my dogs. So I will qualify my recommendation, PetKind is a good topper, but if your dog is fluffy or has issues with fat content, this may not be the food for them. … more
