I have my pooches on a homemade diet and I use the bison tripe to add extra nutrition. Thanks to Chewy for being expedient at sending it to us... Thanks Chewy!

3 dogs don't like it (breed poodle)

By Jilldoglover on Apr 5, 2018

I am sure it is a good product, but three poodles won't eat it. If anyone out there can tell me what picky poodles want to eat, do let me know. They love the frozen tripe I buy from another company.

Not a Good Choice for My Dogs

I have 3 dogs, one is a diabetic Rottie, one is a large Boxer who has had at least one bout of pancreatitis and the other is also a large Boxer, who is just a little too "fluffy". I've been using the Petkind Salmon for a topper because of the low fat content. All the dogs loved it. I wanted to give them some variety, so although the Bison Tripe was double the fat, I decided to give it a try. I opened the first can and it was smelly, no problem, I've fed tripe before so I expected that. What I didn't expect was how greasy it was. It wasn't a layer of fat or anything, just a greasy shine. And the spoon I was using to serve it had to be cleaned in really hot water, with lots of soap to feel clean I have 3 dogs, one is a diabetic Rottie, one is a large Boxer who has had at least one bout of pancreatitis and the other is also a large Boxer, who is just a little too "fluffy". And the spoon I was using to serve it had to be cleaned in really hot water, with lots of soap to feel clean. After seeing this, I didn't even feed it to my dogs. I dumped it out, washed the bowls and gave them the Salmon. I think my dogs would have loved it, and I know Petkind is good food, but I just wasn't comfortable feeding all that grease to my dogs. So I will qualify my recommendation, PetKind is a good topper, but if your dog is fluffy or has issues with fat content, this may not be the food for them. … more
