Champion is all about salmon now, especially in his old age, taking fish oil pills once a day. This product was recommended by his Vet. We have gone to salmon treats as well, for which he invented his own please. His coat is really shining. We buy by the case and alternate with Rabbit. These two feeds are so easily digestable which helps him a lot with metabalism issues.

  • Have always Loved this product

Have used Trippet for years and was glad to find that Chewy would ship. However this last shipment was a bit of a disappointment. Every can in the case of Bison was damaged. Bent or crushed. Most of the cans in the Lamb case were also damaged. Yet, all of the cans of Duck & Salmon in their case were perfect! It was like the other cases were made up of damaged cans!

  • Great for Super Picky Moms and Dads!

I am I believe almost ridiculously picky about what my girls eat and it's super hard to find a canned food that meets my criteria. Has to be fish based with only wild caught fish and no other animal proteins, grains or fillers and it cannot contain carrageenan. I have found about 4 on the market so far and this is one of them. My girls love it too and I use it in their Kongs when I leave the house.

  • Helpful as a protien source for allergic dogs.

    By on

I use this as an additive to my kibble routine. They have several limited ingredient offerings which my dogs enjoy. I have a female that is allergic and this food has been helpful as a protien source for her diet. She never turns a serving away. My other dogs are also fed the same regime with excellent results.

  • Miracle in a can.

My lab is very sick and allergic to so much. I needed a solid protein low fat source to get him back on track. So far this is working out. I know he can not survive on this alone, but for now, he is.

  • Dog wouldn't touch it

    By on

Unfortunately I had to order a case of this (salmon). It smells like potatoes, I doubt there is much actual salmon in this. Even mixing this in with his most favorite brand, he still would not go near it. It would be cheaper and healthier to just buy human grade salmon than this stuff. Wish Chewy would let people buy just ONE trial can before committing to an entire case of something only to find your dog hates it. I think I will learn how to home cook, I am getting tired of dented or rusty cans and dogs just not liking certain products.

  • Truly limited ingredients

    By on

One of my dogs is allergic to a lot of things. It always seems there is one thing in in the canned or dry food she can't eat. This canned food brand all three of my dogs will eat, there are multiple flavors and they have limited ingredients.

  • Great low fat food

    By on

I have 3 large dogs. Two over weight, one diabetic. I was searching for a low fat topper for their dry food. Especially since one of the "fluffy" boys had a mild case of pancreatitis last month. When I found this it seemed perfect. Good protein, no grain or gluten. Plus no ingredients that my diabetic shouldn't have. SOLD! My dogs have been having a little of this on top of their food for almost 2 weeks, they love it. My only complaint is that I like the Canadian formula better. lol I would prefer no potato, but it doesn't seem to bother the diabetics blood sugar, so I will continue to feed it to all my furry boys.

  • Petkind Salmon

I like this canned food in that it doesn't contain carageenan and the fact it has blueberries which are great antioxidants and my dog likes it. I had one issue with one of the cans so far where I found a hard clump of food in the middle of the can -- wasn't sure if it was good or spoiled so avoided giving it to my dog and threw it away. I figured better safe then sorry. Other than that it has been a good food. I got it to add meat to a food I am feeding my dog for renal failure so I can control how much protein she gets.
