    my girl doesn't like it

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I have given my girl fresh raw green tripe so I was not surprised by the smell but if this is your first time trying it be ready fro an awful smell. That aside, I tried giving this to her numerous time and I tried giving it to her by itself and mixed with other food and she really was not interested. I wouldn't buy it again.

Dogs will eat anything mixed in this

    By on

I use this to mix with water and a powdered vitamin supplement that I want to give my dogs. Even though the powder is supposedly liver flavored, they won't touch any food with the powder mixed in - except this. I put a few tablespoons in a bowl, add a little warm water and the supplement. I mix it well and divide it between the bowls as a topper for whatever else they are eating. The dogs eat the tripe/vitamin mix first every time. It could probably be used to hide pills in, too.

    Not sure about this recipe

    By on

My dogs liked it but I wasn't sure if it was fresh or not. I have always bought Tripett in all flavors but this one (the whole case) had white speckles of stuff in it. A lot of them. I sure hope it wasn't expired or old.

Tasty addition to supplement kibble or boost raw diets

    By on Top 100 Contributor

This stuff is the texture of meatloaf, in a can. Soft enough to scoop out on a spoon, but not so firm it might slide out of the can in one cylindrical unit like canned cranberry sauce. I was pleasantly surprised that the typical tripe smell was very mild, though it did get a bit stronger when I added some water to smash it to the consistency of mashed potatoes, then mix in kibble and supplements. My older Australian Shepherd dances when she sees me pick up the can, while my younger dog (the super fussy eater) would be happier to just get this in his bowl, without the other stuff. I can imagine it being hand shaped into a ball to hide medicines - just watch your fingers! At my house, 1 can This stuff is the texture of meatloaf, in a can. At my house, 1 can supplements 4 meals (2 per dog - I have lovely can covers that control the tripe fragrance in my fridge!), and in the future I will plan to travel with a couple of cans when in areas where raw supplementation isn't practical. Nice to know there are lamb, beef, and venison tripe versions available for our food rotations. My Aussies would say 4 paws up (apiece). … more

    tripett bison canned food

    By on

My dog seems to like this dog food, however the smell will take your breath away. I thought at first the dog food was rancid. I called Chewy customer service and they told me because of the part of the bison body part used it would be very smelly. I will use up the cans that I have purchased, but unfortunately I will not buy this product again only because of the extreme awful smell.

    Dogs love it !

    By on

I had been getting the canned Triplett beef tripe that I was using as a supplement to our dogs’ regular diet. I noticed it seemed to be getting a little more fatty, and the fat was, unfortunately, much more blended into the food than it was before. Neither of my dogs can have high fat content food, even in the small amount I was giving, so I wanted something lower in fat. The breakdown info on the bison tripe food showed a lower minimum fat, so I thought it worth a try. Although I can still see bits fat mixed in the food, overall the bison tripe food is of a dryer, less greasy consistency, so I believe it likely does have a lower overall fat content, and the dogs love it as much as they loved I had been getting the canned Triplett beef tripe that I was using as a supplement to our dogs’ regular diet. I gave a 4 star rating because the fat used to be in chunks that, if found in the can one could remove easily. There must have been a manufacturing change because now the fat is mostly very small globules and well mixed into the food, making it essentially impossible to remove. If I could still remove most of the fat from the can I would rate the product a 5. … more

    WAY TOO MUCH FAT

    By on

Chewys service was 5*A+ The PetKind Tripett GreenBison Tripe Canned Dog Food had way too much fat. The dogs loved it, but I’m not comfortable that much fat is good for their digestive system.

    Chewy is the best !

    By on

My dog absolutely loves it and it comes in no time. However, I’ve ordered this twice and both times I have received it more than half the cans were bent and dented.
