Thumbs up to the Green Bison Tripett!!! My dog is allergic to everything and also is very picky so I wasn't sure she would even eat it, but she seems to like it once she decided to taste it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the smell I have to endure. Other than that I think it's a good food for sensitive dogs with food allergies. She usually has a problem with beef so I wasn't sure if bison would cause her issues or not, but it hasn't made her itch or her poop runny or upset her sensitive tummy in any way so I would recommend it.

  • The More Stinky the Better

Great stuff for finicky dogs. It smells horrible so dogs love it! LOL!!! And it's healthy so better to tempt your dog to eat with tripe than an unhealthy food.

  • Tripe is good, but cans were dented and product is jelly

Tripe is a great supplement in any dog's diet, and it keeps my girls from eating grass and having stomach issues. Regardless of the brand, be warned that tripe is very, very smelly. This will stink more than other canned food, but that's the nature of tripe! My dogs are not keen on eating tripe alone, but they don't notice when it is mixed into their usual concoction of food. If your dog is having stomach issues, I strongly recommend adding pureed pumpkin and tripe! I have only ever fed beef tripe in the past, so I wanted to try something new, and bison seemed like an interesting choice! I like mixing things up for my dogs, it helps with intolerances and allergies. I like mixing things up for my dogs, it helps with intolerances and allergies. However, when ordering this brand of tripe, the majority of cans came dented. Thankfully, nothing was punctured (which would of left a horrible mess), but some cans were very close to breaking. In my same order I had beef tripe from the same brand, and they were dented as well. And it should be noted that no other brand of canned foods I have ever ordered from Chewy's has been dented before, and in the same order I had perfectly intact cans from two separate brands. It's not that big of a deal, but due to tripe's smell I can't risk an opened can in my bulk orders of dog food! I also do not like that this kind of tripe is made with carrageenan. The beef variety is made with guar guar gum and has a lot better texture! Best case is that carrageenan makes the product into jelly, worst case is that it leads to inflammation and insulin resistance! I would recommend tripe to anyone, but unfortunately not this brand. … more

  • My raw fed dog loves this!

    By on

I can't feed rawvtripe without gagging, and though the smell of this is terrible - I can endure it. My dog loved this and he's a big snob so if he likes it, it's a keeper. I was feeding solid gold green tripe, but it looks and smells nothing like green tripe and my dog only tolerated it. The price is about $1 too high though.

I’ve supplemented our pets’ raw diet with this product for years. It smells awful, but it’s great for them and they love it.

  • This stuff is magic!

    By on

I have one dog with acid reflux. I feed her half this and half of a regular beef canned food. This stopped her problem cold. My other dog will skip meals on occasion. Normally, that's not such a big deal for dogs - but when SHE skips a meal she gets sick and vomits up bile. The Green Bison Tripe "cured" her not eating. I feed this dog a tablespoon of the tripe on top of her regular food. Honestly, if your dog has any kind of digestive, eating issues - this stuff is magic! I am SO grateful for this food! And, yes, per every other review - it stinks.

  • bad smell but your dog's gonna be crazy about

Okay, let's be honest. This wet food smells like poop. Literally poop. And when my dog tried it for the first time, he was thinking like, mom, what the heck are you going to give me? and then next second, he fell in love with this, seriously deep in love that begs me to give his meal for every hour. And he has serious allergy against animal protein and I found bison product is good for feeding and it really is. He never got any breakouts or licking on his paws and less farts, yeah, less farts with eating poopy smell food. It's been around 2 weeks I tried and turns out good for dogs with bad food allergy. But beware, smells really bad, bad, bad but your dog will love this.

  • Bullmastiffs love it

I use a couple tablespoons in a mug of hot water to make a gravy to pour over our lactating girls food to encourage them to eat. This stuff smells nasty but the dogs love it. Anytime someone is hesitant to eat they get the gravy!

  • Too much jelly

I need to stick to what I bought the first time, and that is the beef tripe. It was also green, and none of my cans have contained any green tripe since I bought the beef. Very odd. My fur baby has now tried the lamb, which she ate, but didn't go nuts over it like she did the beef, and now the bison, which much like the lamb, I am finding entirely too much jelly in the can for my liking. I want my dog to eat quality food not nasty jelly. So, I'm going to give the beef tripe ONE more try, with hopes it is as it was the first time, stinky and delicious to her. I don't care that this stuff smells like a farm stuffed in a can, as long as my girl is happy and healthy. I will say that if the canned beef tripe has gone on the downhill slide, and moved into the jelly filler aisle, I'm looking at other options. … more

My dog absolutely loves this. And she now eats much less kibble. She seems very healthy.
