If the water fountain should turn off for some reason such as loss of power, does or will water "pool" in the top in order for them to have water available until power returns or does the water sink below the top?

Is the part that the cat drinks from plastic, porcelain, or stainless steel

The water tray is made of plastic.
Does the lid have lock on it or secure in another way? Or could a cat pull it off?

The top of the fountain does not have a lock on it however, it would be difficult for a pet to remove it since it sits within the opening of the base.
Does this come with a filter?

just don’t

Before I purchased this fountain, it had much higher reviews than it does now. It ran great for about 5 months then suddenly stopped working. I removed the top and used it as a regular water bowl while I started looking for it’s replacement. About a month later after one of my usual cleanings, I placed it back on the base and suddenly it started working again (I guess I forgot to unplug it). It hasn’t stopped working again, but when it does, it’s going in the trash.

Something wrong in the design

I bought this water fountain and within 1 months time, it just quit. I really liked it and Chewy was nice enough to send me a new one. The second one lasted no more than 3 months. I'm not an idiot, so it wasn't something I did. It just quit working. I just can't trust this company so I will not be getting another one of their fountains.

Great fountain

We love this fountain and the kitties do too. We didn't realize that the old one was giving out on us until we replaced it. The fountain really works when it is in good shape.

Lasted two months

This item was great for about a month. Then it just started getting worse. After about two months of being functional, it’s just a water dish now. I changed the filter in a regular basis, did everything just like it said to do. It’s a shame because my cats loved the idea of the “fountain.” Now, they just sit in front of it waiting for the appearance of the fountain.

Dissatisfied

On the negative side it is called a fountain, but has never been that from the get go. Fountains are thought of as water bubbling through, this doesn't do that at all. Water barely moves through the top and after checking it to be certain it is working, I can see low" bubble" movement. Concerned that it is not keeping the water filtered and I don't want my two cats (one in kidney failure) drinking slimy water. Replacement filters are costly and that is another downside to the product. And, yes, I keep it cleaned and water changed every other day. Over all, would never buy it again. I have a second Petlibro fountain that has never been used or opened. Probably too late to return. On the plus side, it is quiet running and easy to clean.

Do not waste your money!

It worked good for a few months, then slowly pumped water, then totally died. Don't buy this product.

Never works right

When I attempt to place the bowl on the basestation, it does not activate the water pump or green light. I javelin to maneuver the bowl around several times before it activates. Very annoying, its been like this since day one. I've cleaned the contacts, even with a wire brush, and it still doesn't activate the first time, everytime. Super annoying.

Terrible Quality

Just as lots of others have stated, it works okay at first but the motor isn't strong enough to keep up with the water. There have been several times that the water doesn't even make it to the top and I've come home to my animals not having access to their water. Save your money and look elsewhere.

GREAT FOR THE FIRST MONTH AND THEN TOTAL FAIL

I am so disappointed. I really wanted this fountain to work. The first month it worked great, but then the first needed to be changed and eventhough we bought the same brand filter and the filter fits, the fountain has never been the same. Now it's just an expensive water bowl because the bubbler doesn't even work anymore. TOTAL DISAPPOINTED.

So Disappointed

When I first bought this 3 months ago, it worked great and the cats really liked it, so I bought 2 boxes of expensive extra filters. Now it seems the unit has crapped out as the water pressure is non existent. I tried everything to get it to work, but no luck. Avoid this unit, save your $.
