What is the smallest amount of food that can be dispensed? Also, is it guaranteed to dispense the same amount to each bowl?

Each portion is about 20ml/10g. ≈ 1/12 cup. The first few portions may vary but after about 6 feedings, it should be almost even. There is an option if you want each feeding to be a different portion size depending on your individual selection. To prevent uneven food dispensing, please add enough of your pet's food to the visible level. To get equal amounts of food in each bowl, move the splitter to the right until it cannot move.
does it have an option for back up batteries?

This feeder has a patent rotor design that does not allow for a cat to place their paw up into the food.
To use the camera/voice function, does the feeder require a paid app subscription?

This feeder does not require a paid subscription. The requirements would be WiFi access (2.4GHZ or 5GHz) and an active cell phone (iPhone on iOS 10.0 or later; smartphone on Android 5.0 or later).

Great Product

It is so easy to set it up and it is fun to watch my cats while i am in office. The Video quality if great, and i love the ability of making a voice call to check on them.

Worked really well for my stress eating cat!!

Went on a vacation and left my cats at home. While I was gone, I had peace of mind knowing that my one cat (who is a stress eater like his mom XD), was able to pace his feeding as well as allowing the other cats to also eat whenever! I set the timer for 3 times a day and was even able to use the camera to see how much was being eaten in case they were running out of food or if the servings were too much. It was super convenient and helpful! I also got to talk to my cats while away which confused them, but gave me a lot of joy! Would recommend! Makes weekend trips a breeze and if you also have a stress eater, allows them to not binge a whole bowl!
