I was pleased with this crate until my pup reached about 23 lbs. Every time I take even a very slow turn in my car, with the crate centered in the back, it rolls over. Poor puppy! This is a very poor design with the rounded bottom edges.
so some reviews talk about it being hard to put together. I did not look much at the instructions and it was under 4 minutes - yes it means you need to focus - but not that hard. Some said it was flimsy - well it is as strong as the old 13 year old crate we had from petmate - but kind of better. The bigger door is nice.. it also has air vents at the bottom which is better... so overall - this is a great improvement and worth the cost.
I tried actual "cat" kennels when I adopted my first two cats and they are WAY too small. I got one of these 24-inch kennels and it's perfect. It's big enough to hold two if needed (mine are about 12-lb each) and they're so much more comfortable in this kennel alone than the tiny little "cat" size kennels. The pictures I have are with a way-too-big 24-in crate mat that I use to transport the easily-chilled special needs guy on his own (get the 18-in size for a perfect fit). I've had mine for about 4 years now and it's held up great. The handle is sturdy enough to safely carry ~25 pounds of cats without breaking. The double-sided door is an awesome invention, and makes it easy to remove the door completely if you want to leave the kennel out so your pet can be comfortable using it as a bed at home (helps make trips to the vet less traumatic for cats especially!). I was skeptical about the slide-together attachment method for the long sides of the kennel (most others have bolts the whole way around where this only has one on each corner) but it was easy to assemble and again held up perfectly. Highly recommended!
The Compass x large Dog Kennel is a perfect fit for my 90+ pound doberman. The only reason I am not giving it a 10 is the set up. It definitely is a two person job. I would recommend it to others with the set up conditions mentioned.
When I say large dog I mean just that. My dog is a Rottweiler very large dog . He can't even get in the kennel or won't it craps his lifestyle. I'm sure yall ment well but the dog kennel is no use to me or my Rottweiler sincerely clint payte
Not big enough for every day, but fits perfectly in the back of my Acadia and was terrific on our camping trip.... Huckleberry gives it 2 thumbs up and so do I!!!
Please know we love CHEWY. We decided to purchase this kennel. We looked at so many ranging in price from 150.00 to 20.00 only 2 holes lined up the way they were designed to. I litter ally had to drill holes so we could insert the screws. The body of the kennel is mis shaped an concave in areas the should be flat. If we had time to order another we would but we do not. Do not purchase this item.
It seems like the two plastic pieces that make up the kennel were stored sideways and warped because we have to push and pull so hard on the door to open and close it. My wife couldnt open the door in the morning and our puppy had an accident for the first time in her kennel. So disappointed.
The bottom having holes is problematic especially if your furry friend gets sick. Putting it together and taking apart is awkward especially when trying to clean. Stick with a crate that has the metal plastic screws.
The door is very hard to open and close. I am returning as I am afraid I will traumatize my dog because of all the shaking, banging and pulling you need to do in order to close and open the door.
