Technically this multi-sized can lid works
I just used it for the second 3.0 OZ can. To get it to pop on, I had to stand on the lid on top of our can of kitty food. It takes an amazing amount of force to get the lid to pop on so it is air tight. I get that it’s a very low cost item, but it needs to work much easier to get an air tight seal. Once the lid is on the can properly, getting it off takes as much force as putting it on. The lid is very stiff which you can not see in the pictures. I thought the lid would be flexible to pop it on and off. The advertising states to get the lid off, just pull on the ears. That works if you put the ears on the edge of your kitchen counter, then take a hammer and give the lid a sharp wack to get the lid to bend a bit to get it off. At least that is how it is with my 3.0 OZ cans of fancy feast. Maybe other sizes work better. I thought the Use & Care Instructions might provide a bit more information on how to operate the lid better. If you click on the link to the use and care instructions, it simply says, ‘Dishwasher safe’. My wife saw me taking a picture of the lid and told me that she hoped I was returning it because she is already done using it. A ziplock bag is much easier to use for us.
Purrfect fit for keeping wet cat food fresh
I simply adore my pink Petmate's Kitty Kap Can Cover and love the cat face design. It fits small cans like Fancy Feast and bigger cans like Friskies and 9 Lives. It works best if you remove the metal lid from the can, and press hard for a smug fit. I would love to buy another one and get the matching yellow one in the future. Saving fresh cat food is easy like a snap.
Perfect fit
My cats tend to not eat a whole can of food, and I used to waste a bunch of food because it would start to dry, and they would never finish it. Now I give them a half can that they clean up, and seal the can up with this lid, and it keeps it fresh. Now I’m not wasting food. Should have bought this a long time ago.
Can covers suck!
They don't fit the Hills Science Diet Cans or the Pro Health Cans. The covers that I got last time were great. They were made in China. They fit all cans. These covers that I have now were made in Vietnam. They are useless. I would like to return them along with the empty cat food cans, so you can see how they DON'T FIT!!!
Kitty Kap Can Covers hard to get on and off a 3-ounce can
These lids are made from a very hard, inflexible plastic. They are meant to use on 3 different can sizes. I resorted to using pliers to get one of the lids off a 3-oz can of cat food. I recommend that Chewy instead offer flexible, easy to use lids exclusively for 3-oz cans.
doesn’t fit
I purchased this for the Fancy Feast can. It does not fit! If you work hard enough, you can secure it but it pops right off. Very disappointing!
Too hard
It is too hard to open. This is hard plastic it seals fine but when I open, it doesn't bend because it is not flexible at all. I rather to have silicone one.
broke after 3 months
I know it’s an inexpensive product, but it feels wasteful because this broke after only about 3 months of using it. It wasn’t like it was being used on cans that it had to be forced onto or off of, either. I’ve had freebie versions of these from our vet that have lasted for years.
