I wanted to get poop scoopers that were metal because they last longer and the edges don't fray like plastic ones do. But oh my goodness! These holes are huge! So I'm trying to get the smaller pieces that break away from the clumps and I'm so frustrated trying to get the around the holes to land in the solid part of the scoop. Quite the challenge! Why can't scoopers be more like a sifter? Those little bits that are left in the box contribute to it smelling. It's a "huge" factor in keeping your litter box clean. They need to change something. However, I do know they're not the only company that make them with huge holes. This scoop is an excellent upgrade from the same size plastic scooper I had been using. I use sWheat Scoop cat litter-- it takes a long time to harden, which makes scooping urine clumps nearly impossible on the first day as my plastic scoop couldn't slide underneath the clump without bending. This metal scoop slides right under large urine clumps without it breaking it so nothing gets left behind. Scooping the litter box is an absolute breeze and I don't have to change the entire box as often since this scoop doesn't break up the clumps into the clean litter.

i ordered this after having a couple of plastic scoops break over the years. i have a feeling this will break even sooner - the connection between the handle and the scoop is loose right out of the box. it feels fragile. also the holes in the scoop are wide enough that a lot of smaller pieces of soiled litter fall through when sifting.

It’s a great shovel. It’s big enough and strong enough to shovel the clumps in one piece. This prevents the waste from breaking off into smaller pieces. What used to be labor intensive has now become easier. Two or three scoops and I’m done! No extra pieces to clean up. Just shake gently and loose litter falls through. All that’s left is the waste.
Not for Me

This scoop is very big and cumbersome. Because of the rounded design and the thickness of the metal it's very difficult to dig through the litter and lift the clumps up from underneath so as not to break them up and it's impossible to cleanly get to the walls of the box to dislodge stuck clumps. If you make a clean scoop all the excess litter will pour through, but if there are any small fragments left in the box, they fall through too when trying to scoop them out. Nice handle though. I'm sticking with a stainless steel slotted spatula.
Much better than my previous one

I am pleased with this scoop. Not only is it large but it does a much better job, than the one I just retired, to scoop those small chunks floating around in the litter box. The price was most reasonable (paid almost double this for my previous, but way too large of slots, scoop) and the quality seems to be great.
Quick and easy scooping

This is a great scoop for multi cat households. It scrapes up the litter clumps easily and quickly. I also use it outdoors to clean our feral cats potty area. It’s much easier on your hands than those flimsy plastic scoops, and it sanitizes easily. Wish the holes were a bit smaller for indoor use, But it’s not a huge issue, because you change the litter on a regular basis anyway. The hole sizes are perfect for outdoor use.
Metal Kitty Litter Scoop

I read that a metal scoop would save so much time & effort when cleaning the kitty litter box. It made me immediately buy this one. The problem is that the edge is rounded, not sharp enough to scrape the bottom of the litter box. I keep my cat's box as clean as possible for both her happiness & my desire to eliminate odors & the spread of germs (from her paws). This scoop is not useful, in comparison to the plastic one I've been using, because it does not scrape the urine from the bottom of the pan.
Sturdy except wobbly grip

Overall it's a sturdy scooper for the clumping litter. However, I find that the rubberized grip is always moving a bit. This is our first time in about 30 years of having cats that we are using clumping litter and getting the clumped urine off the end of the scoop is a hassle. Always need wet paper towel, but that's more of a problem with the litter, not the scoop.

This is a nice scoop. Well made and sifts out the fine "crumbs" when using clumping litter. My only complaint is that it is huge and difficult to maneuver, even in a jumbo litter box.
