This is so convenient my mother-in-law is in assisted living and has a cat. She forgets to put the water out so this helps us provide enough water between visits.
Only a small amount of water is allowed into the bowl at a time & needs to refill often - after only a couple of laps. It took a lot of encouragement to get my dogs to keep drinking, since the noise (the bubbles from refilling), kept scaring them. They have preferred thirst for a few days, rather than drinking from this thing on their own.
I learned that 3.5 gallons is quite heavy to be flipping around and upside down into the bowl. However, it is so nice to have a longer break in between refilling the boys water bowl. They are a shepard mix and pitbull who guzzles water like a camel so I’m happy with this solution.
carafe is much too flimsy to hold on to while changing water. Was difficult to set up
Purchased a self waterer for my new kittens. Does not dispense water properly. Only allows about 1/2 inch in bottom of container.
It is so nice not having to fill up a water bowl ten times a day! Right now this lasts her about a week. I'm sure that will go down as she gets older but will still be plenty!
This has been great for me. Allows my dog access to water at any time. Stays in shade. I am disabled so affords me more time between filling water. Just dropped it and did shatter but worth buying replacement.
Sensor is not working and all the water pours out all over the floor
Are you sick of filling up you’re dogs water bowl? Have you forgotten to fill up the bowl before you leave? If so, buy this now! This is a lifesaver. Other reviews mention the gurgling sounds it makes, but it didn’t bother my dog one bit. A long lasting supply of fresh water for the win!
I bought two of these and they are a great size for small dogs and cats. Problem is the water container plastic is very cheap and susceptible to melting when you wash it with hot water (not in the dishwasher but by hand) and bending inward. Mine are both misshapen to the point where the water doesn't come out unless I squeeze the plastic container a few times. This is not handy when I'm at work :( I wouldn't buy these again.
