Will it still work if you choose not to use the filter? I can't imagine why it wouldn't besides being a bit less sanitary but all my water is already filtered before I fill it and I clean the whole thing out pretty frequently anyways.
Answer by ChewyNov 13, 2017
This product will still function if you choose to remove the filter.

Does water spill when I flip the waterer to put on the floor?
Answer by ChewyJan 08, 2019
This waterer features a black lid that filters the water and will prevent the water from spilling when inverting the reservoir.

does this come with the water container or just the bowl? if NOT, where do I get the water container that fits the bowl?
Answer by ChewyApr 01, 2018
This product includes the bowl and water reservoir.

Would my cat be able to tip this over?
Answer by ChewyMay 31, 2018
If this waterer is filled with water, it'll be difficult for your pet to tip this over due to the weight.

Never worked as it should

If you’ve owned a bowl like this, you would know its pretty simple and self explanatory. Somehow, this one just did not work. The water level of the jug isn’t compatible with a normal water level for the bowl. After the initial fill up of the bowl, the water jug wouldn’t refill the bowl until it was basically empty.. which defeats the purpose of an “always full bowl” system. Also, buy ceramic. Plastic leeching into your best friends daily water supply is a no go.

Not Worth It

I've always wanted a water bowl like for our pets but this one doesn't cut it. Like the other reviews the water level in the bowl is minimal. With four pets, 2 dogs and 2 cats, there is never enough water, not even for one. Also, I've found it difficult to remove the jug from the dish to refill it. I had hoped for an easier solution to keeping our pets hydrated, but this isn't the answer.

Terrible Product

Ordered this bowl in hopes of not having to constantly fill the water bowl. The jug does not refill the bowl, and our pets are left without water when they drink or trying their hardest to get to the way bottom. It does not fill high enough at all, I end up having to fill a cup of water and pour it in myself. I feel like it was such a waste of money.

So far, so good

This self-refilling bowl seems to be working well so far. It was extremely easy to set up and it is the perfect size for my kitten (she's 9 mos. so she's almost full size). I think the kitten likes to play in the water more than she drinks it, but I like having a constant source of water for her in case she does decide she's thirsty. The bowl arrived quickly and I like the blue color.

Didn’t Work Long

Got one for our Bull Mastiff since she drinks so much water and I was tired of filling up her bowl. My parents have one from a different brand and theirs works great so I wanted to try it. Had this one for about 2 months before it stopped filling the bowl. Not sure if it’s something I’m doing wrong but I can’t imagine why it would suddenly stop working. Tried everything to fix it but the water just stays in the top portion and doesn’t fill the bowl.

Water Bowl

As other recent reviews have said, the water dispenser portion of the dish does not fill up when there is still plenty of water in the jug. I constantly have to go wiggle the jug or lift it up entirely to get more water in the dish.

Worst I own

I keep trying new waterers for the slew of cats we have. This is the worst one I've tried. Can't get the stupid water jug off the base without practically breaking it. There is no way to tell when you've got it set right to pull off - the jug doesn't stop rotating when you are at the point you can take it off. So you just keep spinning it hoping you can get the tabs located "just right" to get the stupid thing off. Also, the little filter that goes in the screw top lid is useless. Water comes out the other holes in the lid rather than going through the filter. I left it in anyways, figured it couldn't hurt, and after about 4 days of use, found it floating at the top of the water in the jug. I've tested around 8 waterers, and this one is BY FAR the worst one I've used!

Doesn't dispense water

I have two Weimaraners that drink a lot of water. After a few weeks, the water would not dispense unless I tilt the bottle up out of the bowl tray holder. This makes for a very clumsy, useless system. Will trash it soon.

Does Not Work

This waterer does not work. The water does not flow to the dish. You have to push the plastic down in order to get the bubbles to flow and the dish to fill. Got my money back and Chewy is always great about that!

Did not perform

Worked great...at first. Within a month the water was no longer trickling down to the bowl. I had pups begging for water and the jug was half full, but the bowl was bone dry. I have to lift the water reservoir out to get it to release more water. Probably will be going in the trash soon.
