Perfect for training and traveling, the top and bottom shells of the x-small and small kennels lock together securely with front, back and side latches, while the medium, intermediate, large and extra large kennels come with a strong and secure wing nut/bolt assembly. Every Vari Kennel size features a durable construction made from heavy-duty, eco-friendly plastic, a durable wire door and holes along the walls for ventilation so your pal can breathe easy. Best of all, each Vari Kennel is built with an internal moat, to keep your furry friend nice and dry!
X-small and small kennels feature: a carry handle, a secure squeeze latch door, side and rear ventilation, a seatbelt loop notch on the top for trips in the car, snap latches, a built-in compartment cover for extra storage.
Medium kennel features: a carry handle, a secure squeeze latch door, side and rear ventilation, a strong and secure wing nut/bolt assembly. This size does not come with a built-in compartment for extra storage.
Intermediate, large and X-large kennels feature: a secure squeeze latch door, side and rear ventilation, a strong and secure wing nut/bolt assembly. These sizes do not come with a carry handle or a built-in compartment.

- While your dog is standing, measure your dog from the tip of their nose to base of their tail.
- While your dog is sitting or standing, measure your dog from the top of their head to the floor.
- Add 4 inches to determine maximum measurements. Remember, your dog should be able to stand up and turn around while in their kennel.

Great Crate for Travel

I love this crate...and so does my puppy. When I got my puppy, I decided to use a crate in the car to keep him from anxiety and climbing into my lap, like my daughter's dog used to, especially when I would go over rumble strips. I started out with the smaller crate, and whenever we suggested a "go for a ride" or "ride in the car" we would use a crate. But unfortunately my puppy grew too big for the smaller one, so I ordered this one. He goes right inside. It fits in my Honda Civic back seat and I put the seat belt over it. I do miss the extra seat belt holder that the smaller crate has. My puppy is now 27 lbs and has plenty of room in this crate. I would definitely recommend it!

Purchased this as recommended by a top breeder before picking up our puppy. Well-built with a better design than the old kennels we've had in the past. Worth paying a little more for a top manufacturer with a great reputation. Also, less expensive through Chewy than the other sites!

My dog really likes his crate. He’s about 10 lbs and this gives him enough room to sleep in. Make sure you add a little pillow and a blanket. Chewie even goes in often to sleep inside all on his own.

Crate is flimsy!

I have had other cat carriers from PetMate. This one is made from thinner plastic and poorly made as compared to older models. There are only 4 screws/bolts to secure top to the bottom of crate. There are several plastic clamps which came broken. I would be concerned my cat would easily escape as the crate did not assemble well is not sturdy.

works great if wire kennels fail you

We are wire-kennel people. We have 4 wire kennels for our 4 dogs. But 2 of our dogs (ironically, our 2 smallest) kept destroying the crate pans and bending the bars of the wire kennels in protest of being kenneled. So we needed a new solution. Got a couple of these for our little 15lb rebels--harder to clean if they make messes, yes, but no removable crate pans, so they can't tear up the bottom. They are working great. Our other 2 dogs are holding steady in the wire kennels.

I ordered the vari kennel to get one in two tone brown and beige to match my room. I received the sky kennel in gray. Very disappointed! I looked for days to find one in shades of brown!

Perfect for car travel

The Vari kennel has been a life saver for me and my puppy who was getting extremely carsick. The kennel is easy to assemble, very lightweight and very roomy. I give my cocker spaniel puppy a Dramamine about 45 minutes before a car trip and put her in the kennel and she sleeps and is comfortable the entire trip! I have taken her on a 10 hour trip with the kennel and their is plenty of room for her to sprawl out and be comfortable!
