One star on customer service 5 star product!

By Buddy on Sep 27, 2019

My first Petnet feeder wheel failed last week after 3 years of flawless use. Yes, ants were a problem but I put up on an ant proof platform and never had a problem again. I did try contacting the customer service depart about getting a replacement feeder wheel and never got a response. I did try contacting the customer service depart about getting a replacement feeder wheel and never got a response. So perfectly operating/repairable old unit will go into trash. So I figured I'd buy a new unit. I set up on same account and QR coded the new device but it spit out 2 cups of food instead of the 1/2 cup programmed on app. After calling Petnet for technical support, no response again. I called Chewy asking for a return label which they gave me. I thought about what may be causing the issue given the crapification of software these days. I realized the programmers were not erasing the old parameters of my old device when they started controlling my new device! Simple solution was to create a new account/new password with new email. Unit now works flawlessly! … more

    No support

By lilian on Feb 16, 2020

The features are not thought out- for example, it constantly disconnects from wifi, and each time, I have to re-enter my wifi information- this includes typing out the wifi name (case sensitive), and re-entering the password. The app does not save the wifi name. This is particularly annoying, because The features are not thought out- for example, it constantly disconnects from wifi, and each time, I have to re-enter my wifi information- this includes typing out the wifi name (case sensitive), and re-entering the password. The app does not save the wifi name. This is particularly annoying, because the feeder also drops the wifi randomly, requiring the router to be reset. Since the primary purpose of buying this was to feed my cats while not at home for a couple of days, I do not feel like I can rely on this feeder. Additionally, you cannot have two feeders connected to one account. Only one feeder per account. More recently, there has been a service outage ongoing for the last 3 days (has not yet been resolved), and there has only been one tweet/email that went out about it. Service outage has the feeders (2nd gen) show as unconnected which means that feeding times are locked into whatever it was at the time of the outage. If you were unlucky enough to turn off the feeder in effort to get it to reset, before receiving the email, then the feeder does not work at all. Overall, their support service appears to be non-existent, despite their website promising Mon-Sat responses. Great idea, terrible execution. … more

    cheaply made

I bought this and returned it (to the manufacturer). I could NOT set it up on my WiFi and Bluetooth. Petnet’s customer service is so slow to respond, by the time they responded I had shipped it back!! The tray that holds the bowl is held together by a very thin piece of plastic and some wires. It also falls when you pick up the unit without supporting the bowl. I would think the second version would be made BETTER not worse! Don’t know how you wash the container that holds the food because the lid is NOT removable- unsanitary!

    DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I have had at least one Petnet feeder since the first feeder was in Beta testing. I have had a lot of issues over the years with both the older model and now the newer one but because of it's nice aesthetic and alleged flexibility it would give me, I've stuck around. This newer model is the absolute worst. The bowl slides onto a little pull out platform which makes it 1. not completely flush with the ground. 2. Even when you slide the bowl back and lock it into place, kibbles can fall into the crack between the base and the bowl. It's also quite loud because the food is free falling from about 2+ inches. But ultimately those aren't the worst qualities. This feeder is NOT reliable. I have been I have had at least one Petnet feeder since the first feeder was in Beta testing. I wish this was more reliable because it looks fantastic but it just isn't. … more

    Absolute Garbage

    By on

How can something that looks so cool be such a pile of trash? Ask the makers of this feeder. The software is faulty at best. Multiple service outages over the last 4 months. The Smartphone app barely works well enough to connect to the feeder much less control it, and to put a cherry on top, it started jamming up after 4 months of use and the "replacement" jammed up immediately. Save your money.

    Too glitchy to depend on

    By on

I read the negative reviews and still was lured in by the feeder's sleek look and app. The Petnet was easy enough to connect, but it constantly did not feed my pet. (I'm pretty tech savvy, too.) When I was out of town, I tried to contact customer service, and it was awful; after one email asking me questions about my device and app (in which a rep provided incorrect information), he just never followed up. Multiple tweets and calls to customer service (since my email was being ignored) went unanswered. When I finally heard back from someone, I was told that Petnet is only supposed to supplement, say, one meal, and was mainly for ensuring my pet was fed the right amount, was not for my "jet-setting I read the negative reviews and still was lured in by the feeder's sleek look and app. The Petnet was easy enough to connect, but it constantly did not feed my pet. OK, but what's the point of having a device that glitches every day? This doesn't happen with my home's other bluetooth/wireless devices. I would not recommend. … more

Not all the bugs worked out!

    By on

I am very dissatisfied with this product. It worked for 2 days than stopped feeding. I call support but was told it’s my router. They are aware there are multiple routers with issue but not giving any warning to public. Extremely frustrated. Don’t purchase this product unless you have a lot of patience and money to waste.

    Do NOT Buy!

    By on

This product is absolutely not ready for consumer use. It fails to function at least once a week. You can not rely on it if you’re going to be at work or traveling. Do not buy it.

    Do Not Buy It !!!!!!!

    By on

Well, if I could make a decision again, I would never buy it! This “Smart”feeder has two times of “Smart”feeder off line per month, and at least four times of manual feed disabled per month.
