My fat cats fit
My fat cats fit through opening no problem. They just haven’t gotten use to flap yet. The locking part is tight even when you adjust screws. Only hard part assembling was the screws. There are different sizes for different depths of doors. But once you screw one type in you think is correct according to directions it is not right one. Then you have to take apart again n try new size screw. Took awhile but overall a great door.
Cat’s Door
I upgraded my cat door. This one is much sturdier and I can lock it when I go in my garage so they have to stay in with certain tools and times of the day.
Hard to set up
Doors sticks. Had to try twice to get it set in our door so everything aligned. Hard to align correctly. Still sticks when cats try to go on and out.
Awesome but tricky
The directions say it is easy to install, well maybe for someone who has woodworking tools and can grasp math. Thank God for my husband that he knows and has these tools. Love the cat door though, all my cats fit through it but the dogs don't. Saved me a lot of money on cat food.
Worked for my purpose
I have bought these before but this is the first time I have used it on an ice chest for a winter feral cat box. It is easy to install if you have the tools whether it is a door or ice chest.
Pretty sturdy cat door
Good instructions and built sturdy. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars was because after we got it installed the door flap started to rub on the frame and made it just a pinch harder to push open. My cats haven't figured it out quite yet but they will eventually.
A complicated way to let your cat flex on you, won't last
This cat door will not last a determined cat more than a couple of months if you're using the locking mechanism. Once your cat cracks the cheap plastic door (that isn't replaceable) it's only a matter of time until the whole thing is useless (I'm talking door shattered, now just a hole in your house useless within months of installation). Because of the door's unique shape, you will not be able to install a different cat door in the same space without sizing up and recutting the door. I'm giving two stars because I believe it would have lasted longer if we had not used the locking mechanism but that's kind of the whole appeal of this door. Learn from my mistake and don't buy this product or your cat will show you who actually runs your home with a quickness.
Pet safe cat door
Door is stiff at first but is easily loosened. Gives our cats the freedom to go outside when they want and return for safety.
Installation could be made easier, not good for exterior doors
Cutting the space filler for in between the doors is ridiculous. I would have gladly paid an extra couple bucks to have it include different sizes to insert. Also the screws need to be a locking type. As they are now you can't tighten them too much or the whole thing warps and the door won't swing freely. I would be upset if I bought this for exterior use. I'd have had to use half a tube of caulk to seal the thing. That said, it does function well. The lock works good against very persistent cats. The template really helps for installation. I just taped it right to the door and cut along the lines with a scroll saw after drilling the corners. I don't regret the purchase, I just think it could have been thought out better .
