What’s the bowl size height and width?
I have the PetSafe Smart Feed and the smallest amount you can set for each meal is 1/8 cup. What is the smallest amount you can set for an individual feed on this machine?

There is no minimum amount for the Six-Meal Feeder as each compartment is filled separately. You can put as little as one piece of kibble in each.
Can it be programmed for 3 meals/day for 2 days?

This Six Meal Automatic Feeder will automatically dispense meals for your pet when you are away from home, traveling for the weekend, or even tied up with other tasks. You can schedule this feeder for thee (3) meals per day for two days.
Is the time programming based on on an actual clock set time or is it just every so many hours.. I might need to get two since they don’t share well. Just don’t one opening before the other

With the Digital Six Meal Feeder, you set a clock on the feeder, and you set the time that you would like the meal(s) to be dispensed. The meals will then be dispensed at the same time every day. This feeder is suitable for one pet and is not recommended for multi-pet households.

Not cat proof

Was excited about the prospect of using an auto feeder but it took only a short 48 hrs for my cat to get the top off and knock the feeder over so he could get at the food inside.

Works well

At first my cat didn’t like the small shallow bowl, but after a few days she got used to it. The Feed Now button is helpful. The downside is having to fill it every day.

Here's the deal...

Been using this feeder for over a year straight on the same batteries. About every 4 months or so it stops working and the display goes blank. To reset it I have to hold down 2 buttons simultaneously - can't remember which two but I think it's the time and calendar looking buttons. Just try pressing two buttons at a time until you get the right combination - the display resets and you're good to go :)

Great performance; disappointing endurance

Like other reviews have said, this feeder successfully prevents even my very determined and food-motivated cat from batting out extra kibble between meals, which I greatly appreciate especially since he needs to lose a little weight. That said, I'm disappointed by the battery life--I bought this about a month ago and the four D batteries have already died and needed replacement, which is a bummer because if it happens again then rechargeable batteries or a new feeder may be necessary.

Works great once you figure it out

Someone complained about pressing the button a million times to set the time- press and hold the up and down button and it will scroll through til you let go. Make sure the display has the "1" lit up or it will start with whichever scheduled feeding is lit up. It only holds a cup of food at a time so my dog will have to get her cup and a half breakfast in two feedings 15 min apart. But I don't think she will mind getting breakfast twice. The lid twists into place so nobody can sneak in it.

Cat feeder

I needed a feeder for my cat where I could portion very small amounts of dry food over the day. She has GI disease and tends to eat fast and will vomit if her stomach is empty and I don't feed her. I often feel held hostage so this feeder is helping tons... it allows me to leave her for 8 hours during the day and she is being fed while I am gone and she is happy! Pro: not noisy, the sound of the food dropping signals to my kitty to come and eat, 6-meal slots is great, pretty easy to set. Cons: Need to press the numbers hard as I notice when setting times it doesn't always take, wish the entire tray/insert was removable so I can clean it, the whole feeder is a bit bulky. I also really need to buy a second one, as I use the one I purchased for the day time and it is a pain to reset for night feeds... so I wish the price was a little lower so I could buy a second one or even wish they made a mini version of this one ie. same look just smaller and 3-4 meals.

Pros and Cons

Unlike the other feeders, this feeder let you to customize each meal for your cat. You can add treats to a certain meal if you would like to. I like to feed my cat with a piece of chicken neck for their breakfast and this feeder allows me to do so. However, I don't like the plastic bowl. Also, keep it in mind that this feeder only provide six meals.

Good while it lasted

Delivered 4/10 and started using it within a few days. Today (6/15) it died. Thought it was a battery issue. Still did not work after new batteries.

Best feeder we’ve used

Accurate clock, you know how much has been fed to your animal, low center of gravity so our can’t hasn’t figured out how to tip it over. Our cat also could reach up and turn the mechanism on our old feeder and get a few kibble. He can’t do that with this one.

Died After a Year

I liked this feeder until it recently decided to stop working. It won't take batteries anymore (I've tried multiple brand new ones), and doesn't use electricity so the whole unit needs to be replaced. If you don't mind buying a new one after a year, this is a good feeder, but I'm sad that I need to throw this out and get a new one.
