Nothing's more fun than playing off leash, but when you have four lumbering limbs, a large mouth, and a curious personality it's important to follow the rules. The PetSafe big Dog Remote Trainer helps keep large dogs in line by allowing you to deliver harmless, annoying static correction or a high-pitched tone to get your dog's attention when instinct wins over manners. The remote and waterproof receiver collar have a 100 yard range, which is great because there's a lot of things to distract a pup while chasing a ball the length of a football field.
Key Benefits- Waterproof receiver collar for dogs 40 pounds and up.
- Range up to 100 yards with an easy-to-read digital remote transmitter.
- 16 levels of stimulation plus instant +2 boost option, tone-only mode gets your dog's attention with a beep.

Receiver collar, digital remote transmitter with wrist strap, test light tool, operating and training guide, (4) RFA-35-11 batteries.

Troubleshooting
My dog is not responding to the remote trainer.
- Verify collar is turned on
- Check batteries or check battery charge of collar and battery in transmitter
- Check the correction on the collar with test light
- Reset collar if necessary
- Make sure the contact probes or contact loops are making skin contact. This is where the static correction is delivered. If you have the Elite Pendant Remote Trainer, make sure the collar is only hooked through the loops once.
- Increase the correction level
- Purchase long contact points
- Ensure proper collar fit. Place the receiver on dog’s neck close to the ears. Fit should be snug, allowing 1 finger to fit between the end of the contact point and the dog’s neck.
- May need to trim dog’s fur where the contact points touch the neck.
My remote trainer has reduced range.
- Try your trainer in a different area.
- Replace the batteries.
- If rechargeable – ensure the collar and transmitter are charged.
- Ensure the remote transmitter and the collar are correctly paired.
Note: The range of the system will vary according to terrain, weather, and vegetation.
What do I need to do if my pet’s neck becomes red and irritated?
This very rare incident occurs when the collar is worn longer than designed. We recommend it not be worn more than 12 hours per day. Please discontinue using the collar until the affected area has healed and consult a veterinarian if necessary. This situation is not limited to static correction collars; it can happen with any collar your pet wears for too long.
Pair the remote transmitter and the receiver collar
If your Receiver Collar does not beep when the Tone Button of the Remote Transmitter is pressed, or if you feel the Receiver Collar is not responding to the Remote Transmitter, follow these steps to pair:
-
With the Receiver Collar off your pet, turn the Receiver Collar on.
-
Place the transmitter into pairing mode by pressing the down (-) button until the Digital Display shows P.
-
Press the Tone and Stimulation Buttons simultaneously (the orange LED should be lit) until the collar beeps twice, indicating it has learned the Transmitter ID.
-
Change the level to 1 Low by pressing the up (+) button on the transmitter and then press the Tone Button. The Receiver Collar should emit a tone, verifying that it is paired with the transmitter.

Can I use the remote trainer on aggressive dogs or use it to stop a dog from being aggressive?
We do not recommend any of our products to be used on aggressive dogs. If you are unsure if your dog is aggressive, please consult your veterinarian or a certified trainer.
What age does my dog need to be before I can introduce them to the system?
Your pet should be old enough to recognize basic obedience commands such as “sit” and “stay” (approximately 4 to 6 months).
Is the stimulation safe and humane?
While the static correction is unpleasant, it is harmless to your pet. Electronic training devices require interaction and training from the owner to achieve the desired results.
How do I use the Test Light Tool to test my collar?
The Test Light Tool is used to tell if your collar is working properly. Hold the tool against the contact points and activate the collar. The tool will light up if the collar is activating. For a remote trainer, activate the correction using the transmitter. For a fence, move the collar near the boundary, holding the collar at your dog's neck height. For a bark collar, activate it by rubbing the contact points against a rough surface.
How waterproof is this product?
This product has been tested submersible up to 5 feet for 30 minutes. Your pet can jump in a pool or get a bath without harming the collar. The microphone on bark control collars may need to dry out for a few minutes after it's been wet.

I do not recommend this product
By Geni on Aug 20, 2021
The batteries did not last long. It uses 4. It did not work consistently. Would work when I tested it off the dog, when I put it on it didn't work. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it didn't. I was not happy with this product. Gave it one star because I had to.

By Ed328 on May 7, 2021
This collar did not work from the start, It would turn on and the within a few seconds turn itself off, checked the batteries and they were good. Chewy.com made a full refund when I told the of the problem, I would not recommend this collar at all but fully endorse Chewy.com, their service is outstanding.

HORRIBLE!!
By Sadie on Dec 15, 2020
If I could put no stars I would. Used it for not even a month and already doesn’t work. This is the worst thing I have ever bought from Chewy. You definitely get what you pay for. It may be cheap but it is absolutely the worst! I will never recommend this to anyone! Do not buy this. Spend the money and get something that will last!

Did Not Work
By Spot on Dec 31, 2020
The collar worked good for a little while, then stopped staying turned on. And it takes batteries that do not recharge. I would not purchase this again. But Chewy was excellent to work with and I continue to highly recommend them as a company.

does the job!
By Jaxon on Nov 15, 2020
worked great so far for 65lb Jax! It really gets his attention in the dog parks to leave other dogs alone with a command “leave it” when he’s super focused on specific dogs and he’s annoying the other dog owners. I only have to use the sound / beep since he knows the slight shock would be next.

eh.... okay for a medium dog
By niki on Nov 14, 2020
I bought this to use on one of my danes. The battery dies quickly and you can BARELY hear the tone when you use it. I rarely use the shock feature unless of an emergency case but my dog doesn’t feel it either way. I feel like it was a waste of my money.

Crap. Not worth the money
By Noneyabusiness on Dec 12, 2020
Doesn’t effect my dog at all, when he’s doing something bad and we hit the button, he’s like whatever. Do it again I don’t care.

Junk - Buyer Beware
By TimH on Nov 18, 2020
Since I've purchased this collar in September '20, I've gone through 3 sets of batteries. It doesn't ever seem to stay on, so when I need to correct my dog, it doesn't work. I will be contacting Pet Safe and Chewy for a refund Do not recommend.
