Adequate laser toy for when they need a distraction
on Mar 31, 2020
As one of the many who are new to working at home, I needed something to keep my cats distracted and happy while I'm in meetings. This will keep them reasonably occupied for 15 minutes. Sometimes it is not enough stimulus to keep them from getting distracted by more interesting things, but so far they've kept out of trouble.
So entertaing I purchased Two!

My cats went pretty bonkers the first time I turned it on. I find if I hold it in my hand and move it around they seem to enjoy tracking it better plus you can be more reactive. But leaving it alone to go all over the room works as well. Especially if you’re going to do something in another room and you need them out of the way a little bit. Sort of a cat babysitter but great interactive fun too.
Motor is too loud

This is a great toy in the manual mode. My old hands can't press and continuously hold a small button like on the other pen-like laser toys. This was the only laser toy that allows me to turn it on and it stays on... at least for fifteen minutes. The internal timer turns it off. Grrr! That's frustrating because it happens at the worse possible time. I've built up to the raised butt and the wiggle just before the... oh, where did it go? In manual mode, I have them racing from room to room, leaping, scaling their climbing wall, lunging for the cat tree, everything possible to catch that elusive red dot. They tag team it and I get about an hour workout keeping the red dot safe.

The automatic mode is useless. The cats hear the loud motor whirling and twirling and they become more interested in the noise than the red dot that is racing back and forth in a circle. It doesn't give them much of a work out either just going around in a circle the way it does.
So, unless you plan to use it manually, the automatic mode will just give them something to sit and watch for fifteen minutes.… more
Cats go crazy for the random laser light.
on Mar 31, 2020
I have four cats and they are throughly enjoying the laser light show that they get with this toy. Just turn it on and watch as it randomly puts the laser dot in one spot and then another. Enjoy watching the cats try to paw catch the dot. It’s fun for cat parents to watch the interaction.
I wanted to like it

My cat loves watching lasers as much as she loves chasing them. I thought this would be great and it was for a few weeks. The laser seemed to get out of alignment so it didn't look right when it projected. The motor was loud and the laser got weak. Even after replacing the batteries the laser still was really faint. It just didn't last. I would not recommend getting this.

One- it’s very loud, as if the rotating mechanism needs to be lubricated. That started on the first day, on maybe the fourth time we used it. Two- you can control the range of movement somewhat, but I wish you could control it more- the sweep is very wide, so my cats lose sight of it easily- it’s less efficient than I’d hoped. All in all, it isn’t the worst thing ever- it does do what it says, but it’s gratingly loud and not that effective at it’s function).
My Cats Favorite New Toy
on Mar 21, 2020
This automatic laser toy is so perfect for my house. My three cats love it and now I don’t have to remember to turn it off so the batteries last longer. I also like the fact that you can adjust the laser so that it can shoot more on a wall or on the floor. I recommend this wonderful toy.
THE ULTIMATE 'RED DOT' TOY FOR YOUR CAT!!
on Feb 26, 2020
his is the 4th one Igotten, and it is sooo well worth it! My kitty Isabella LOVES this laser toy, and goes bonkers when I turn it on! Just one draw back, and that is that the batteries don't last very long in it, and it's not very durable. If Bolt could make these laser toys shatter/impact resistant, that would really be great!
My cats really enjoy this

You have to gauge their excitement. Once you've got that, start it up and watch the dance! 15 minutes is spot on for my monsters. Only improvement i might suggest would be if the next-gen had a motion sensor.
It’s like an iPad for small children

I feel someone guilty that I’m not personally interacting with my beloved cat. I push the button and she is entertained for 15 full minutes. Now I can watch Season 3 Outlander without interruption from my playful kitty. But she’s happy, and I’m happy. Win-win.
