Timer automatically turns the laser off after 15 minutes to conserve battery life.
NOTE: Requires 4 AA batteries, which are not included.
This is a great toy in the manual mode. My old hands can't press and continuously hold a small button like on the other pen-like laser toys. This was the only laser toy that allows me to turn it on and it stays on... at least for fifteen minutes. The internal timer turns it off. Grrr! That's frustrating because it happens at the worse possible time. I've built up to the raised butt and the wiggle just before the... oh, where did it go? In manual mode, I have them racing from room to room, leaping, scaling their climbing wall, lunging for the cat tree, everything possible to catch that elusive red dot. They tag team it and I get about an hour workout keeping the red dot safe.

The automatic mode is useless. The cats hear the loud motor whirling and twirling and they become more interested in the noise than the red dot that is racing back and forth in a circle. It doesn't give them much of a work out either just going around in a circle the way it does.
So, unless you plan to use it manually, the automatic mode will just give them something to sit and watch for fifteen minutes.… more
Only one random setting
on Feb 8, 2020
There is only one 'random' setting, and it's too fast for my cat. The laser moves super quickly. My cat won't interact with it because it's too fast for her.
The only other setting than that quick random setting is to control the laser yourself. I'd rather use a small laser pointer for that.
Cats LOvE it!
on Jan 11, 2020
Our 4 cats all LOVE this thing! It so nice to just click a button and watch them all enjoy themselves!
The only problem I have with it is it is really loud! So when you first turn it on the actual toy is the first thing they notice. You have to direct their attention to the laser. And since you have to put it on a table or counter to work best when they get done with the laser they turn their attention back to the toy itself. So cat on the table/counter.
Broke after 2 weeks
on Feb 22, 2020
My cats did enjoy this product, but, unfortunately, it stopped working properly after only two weeks of use. The laser is now so faint that they can’t see it :/ The service from Chewy was excellent as always, but I wouldn’t recommend this product.
Best purchase decision ever
on Jan 17, 2020
Best purchase decision ever. Ubu never gets tired of it and I no longer have to sit there with a laser pointer for minutes and minutes at a time. No idea how long the batteries will last, but it’s been 3 weeks and we use it multiple times a day and it is still working great. Love the auto turnoff so it saves battery.
Poorly Made Toy
on Dec 31, 2019
My kitty loved it for the 5 minutes that it worked. Appears that the mechanism the laser is attached to can't stand up to the constant movement and the wire connections came loose. If you wiggle the laser light it eventually comes back on, but only for a minute until it comes loose again. Just poorly made Chinese toy. Thankfully Chewy gave me a refund, so I will continue to search for a well made USA laser toy, if one exists...
It would be great if it had worked for more than a month
on Dec 27, 2019
My cat loved this. She's obsessed with "dot" but we can't play with her all the time. When it worked it satisfied her play time, not as good as interacting, she could tell the difference, but it did keep her occupied.
Unfortunately, it tips over easily and it appears to have been the downfall. It broke within a month, we thought at first that it was just batteries, but it wasn't.
Don't waste your money.
Perfect for introducing new family members!
on Dec 15, 2019
When introducing a new cat to the ones already in the household, this is the perfect thing for the first few days when they just across the room from each other talking smack. It distracts them from the strange cat and they wind up both playing in the same area and get used to each other. Playing *near* each other morphs into playing *with* each other in fewer days.
It's also really cool if you can put it facing down a long hallway, where the cats can get up a little speed chasing it from one end to the other.
Entertained my kitten
on Jan 8, 2020
This toy entertained my kitten when we first got it and he was about 4 months old. It kept his interest for just shy of a month before he learned how repetitive it was and would just watch it instead. The light on it got very weak pretty quickly. My older cat didn’t fall for it and knew the light was coming from this device.
laser on walls and i can't adjust it to not shine on the walls.
on Jan 24, 2020
I am not impressed with this and my cats are not either. The laser toy i had before this had a better adjustment range where i could keep the laser on the floor. with this one it goes up my walls and that is not where i want my cats to be.
