Questions & Answers

I have had this toy for several weeks now. I use it to feed my dog her meals a few times per week. It has started smell terrible, I imagine because I can't really get the rope clean. Do you have any recommendations for cleaning?
Answer by ChewyJul 10, 2020
Use a natural laundry detergent or simply sprinkle the toy with baking soda and add a few capfuls of white vinegar. You can soak it in this mixture to help with the smell and then wash it off.

How do I get a replacement rope???
Answer by ChewyApr 15, 2018
The manufacturer does not offer replacement ropes for this item.

How do I teach my dog to use this? She can't figure it out and gives up after a while. She looks sad.
Answer by ChewyFeb 05, 2019
For interactive play with your dog, it's recommended to let them figure out how to get the treats/food out. If you would like you can show your dog that tipping it over will dispense treats.

How much food can fit in the largest size?
Answer by ChewyFeb 04, 2019
This will be entirely dependent upon the type and size of kibble you are putting in the unit at one time. If needed though, the rope can be removed to allow the kibble to fall out more freely.

Still the OG!

This toy has been around so long. I’ve had multiple ones throughout the last several years but they last very long, longer than any other toy, I definitely recommend it,

Great toy to keep pups busy

This treat toy is well constructed and made for tough Aussiedoodle play for hrs. Refill it and it’s ready for the next go round. Highly recommend this tuff toy!

Tantrum Inducing

This is a great puzzle…if your dog is smart enough to figure it out. Moose is a big baby and chose to throw a fit because he couldn’t. The photo is mid tantrum. Big feelings. I’m sure he’ll figure it out eventually but the only way for his kibble to come out is if the rope slides out, I think his kibble may be too big. If you have flat kibble it’ll work easier but not if it’s round.

Wrong size

I ordered this to replace our dogs favorite toy. Ruby is a 52 lb. Australian Shepherd. Unfortunately, what I received is a size small. Can you help me with an exchange? Thank you.

Tug-A-Jug is potentially dangerous

While this is a great treat toy idea...there is a HUGE flaw..that bottle is made of extremely hard plastic, and if you dog is like mine, they swing this toy back and forth by the rope in an attempt to get the treats out, and it has the potential to break something, or in my case, hurt someone(me, big bruise on my shin) and hurt an unsuspecting child...thats why i gave it a low rate...i would not recomend it as is...if they change the material of the bottle, i would probably change my mind.

Tug A Jug bottle

I am on my second Jack Russell. Both dogs love this bottle. I leave it filled on the floor at all times. They seem to prefer the food out of the bottle than the bowl. They can break over time but it takes a while. I have gone through maybe 4 in the last 15 years.

Disappointment

Our dog loves treat dispenser/puzzle toys but hates this one. It’s a frustrating dud.

Maybe it's ok?

Looks cool! My husky loves bottles so I thought heeeeyyyy! But no ... He's too ditzy{?} to figure it out? Maybe a Border or Aussie would do better. If the treats don't roll out, he's not interested.

Not a hit with my goldendoodle

My dog, Ella, is quite the puzzle master. She readily figures out a variety of treat dispensers, but wasn't drawn to this one. In fact, she was not engaged with it at all. Others work better for her.

Mostly great

So far this toy has withstood various floor types and a dog that loves to drop treat dispensing toys in an attempt to break them. The reason I go for 4/5 though is that the opening at the top (with the rope) where treats are meant to come out is a little large to be a challenge. The toy keeps my pup occupied for a brief time, but not like a lot of other toys. It's also a bit tricky to get treats in the toy without accidentally spilling some to the floor, so be careful of that.
