Is the ceramic lead free with a safe glaze?

PetSafe ceramics are fired to industry standards and are free of lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromium.
Are any parts of this fountain dishwasher safe?

Take your pump and fountain apart to clean with soap and water every two to four weeks. Be careful not to get soap in the filters, as it will not rinse out. The plastic filter housing, ceramic bowl, and ceramic tower (except the silicone gasket) are dishwasher safe.
Are the cleaning brushes shown in the video included?

The cleaning brushes are not included with this fountain. The Drinkwell Pet Fountain Cleaning Kit is sold separately.
What replacement filters do I need?

Great Upgrade vs Plastic

In 2016, my cat was diagnosed with early stage kidney disease and it was recommended to provide a fountain for her to encourage hydration. I've bought three different plastic fountains since then. I was very happy with the two Catit Brand fountains I had purchased. However I saw several experts state that ceramic or stainless steel fountains were better for water quality and pet health. Since Chewy's always sends me Birthday coupons for my Fur Babies, I invested in the more expensive Ceramic Fountain in May 2021 and my pets LOVE it! I have two fountains set up on the main floor of the house and both cats prefer the ceramic fountain versus the plastic one. These are easily cleaned in the dishwasher and a quick rinse in the sink will remove any debris or film that develops in the bowl. Filters last longer than other models as well. The only drawback is that ceramic is ultimately more breakable if dropped than plastic.

Perfect for a cat! Super easy to clean and I love that it’s not plastic. It’s also quiet you just have to keep it filled. My cat loves it too.

very well made product

The engineering on this fountain is simple and the parts well made. The ceramic surface is easy to clean because the glaze is non-porous. I found it easy to assemble and reassemble when rinsing the filters once a week. The only downside for me is that neither of my cats have yet to use it. I will keep moving it to new places once a week to see if they get interested.

Quiet Fountain

I purchased this fountain to encourage my older kitty with kidney disease to drink more. Within a week of setting it up he was drinking just as I had hoped. As noted in a prior review, I saw some charcoal particulates on the bottom of the well within a day or 2 of setting up so I did quick washing and water change and it's been perfect since. This is normal with charcoal filters (I use a Britta water filter and seeing charcoal particles after installing a new filter is noted as being normal). Set up and cleaning are both easy and I just top it off with additional water each day. It's almost silent too! Very happy with this purchase and I highly recommend if you're thinking of a fountain.

Great water fountain

My cats get up on the countertops to drink running water. This fountain has stopped this behavior downstairs. After I renovate my 2nd floor I will buy another. It doesn’t splatter droplets onto the floor; it’s quiet; it’s easy to clean; the water amount is perfect & I just top it off every day (2 cats use it). I’ll recommend this to anyone interested in a cat or small dog fountain. 5 star

Worth the money

I kept purchasing cheaper fountains that were exactly that - cheap. Most of them were loud and the plastic quickly collected dirt and I was constantly cleaning dirt and mildew. This one is QUIET, easy to clean and re-fill. So happy I splurged!

Easy to clean and nice looking

I am very pleased with this fountain. I already give my dog filtered water so I just replace the plastic filter and not the charcoal. My dog is drinking more water. Nice looking and quiet fountain. I broke my previous one so be careful not to drop anything heavy on it.

Very quiet and looks good, too

This is our third fountain. The first two pumps died after about a year, so I purchased this one because we can get replacement pumps for it. This one is significantly quieter than the others. Our cats drink more water using a fountain, rather than a water dish.

Great Quality

Love this fountain. So quiet and easy to clean. I recommend cleaning at least once a week because I have just 1 cat and in about a week the porcelain feels a bit slippery (most likely a mix of saliva and bacteria). I highly recommend this product.

Happy Pets

Great fountain, our cats have enjoyed drinking from it, and the dogs too. It was easy to setup. It's quiet. It's a perfect fountain for cats and dogs.
