Where is the padding on this model? Is it on all straps? And is it's intent to minimize chafing?

This harness features neoprene lined straps on all straps.
Where does the buckle snap? My pup's current harness snaps behind her shoulder. One little hop and she can slide her shoulder and leg right out! If we tighten it, we won't be able to snap it around her, she has rather broad shoulders.

To select the best size we recommend that you measure your dog's chest girth (circumference) and chest width. To measure the chest girth you'll measure around the broadest part of the rib-cage behind the front legs and to measure for the width you'll measure across the front chest, to approximately 1 inch behind the front legs. If the dog happens to be in between sizes it's then recommended to select the bigger size. The Small fits a chest width of 8.5-11 inches with a girth of 15-20 inches. The Medium fits a chest width of 12-15 inches with a girth of 20-28 inches. The Medium/Large fits a chest width of 14-18 inches with a girth of 25-35 inches. The Large fits a chest width of 16-21 inches with a girth of 26-36 inches.
Our dog can't have anything that puts pressure on her throat. Does this harness get close to the throat area?

When sized and fitter properly this harness should go across the front of the chest and around the girth of the chest behind the from legs. See attached picture for visual.

great product

Just adopted an adult Lab who is a bit of a 'puller' when walking and gets overly excited meeting new people and dogs, Friends recommended the no-pull harness so I checked it out. Glad I got the deluxe version for the extra comfort. Easy to adjust Easy on and off. Well-made and sturdy construction. Simple instructions to explain how to fit and use the harness properly (releasing pressure on the chest as reward for walking properly at heel) Took a day or 2 for my old boy to get used to the harness restricting his movements but immediately stopped the pulling and lunging to greet other dogs. Walks like a perfect gentleman now!

I was so hopeful…

I wanted to love this harness which came recommended by a friend. I bought a small, and it still wasn’t quite tight enough across his chest but he’s 11 months old so I figured he’d grow into it very soon. Well I’ve used it for three days and it did as advertised with no pulling; unfortunately my pup chewed through the front part today. Ugh such a waste of money. I guess we’ll go back to the leather and chain martingale collar.

Helps with pulling

I really like this harness because it helps with my dog's pulling habit. However, if your dog likes to wander from the left to the right, it doesn't move with the dog. So, if she's walking on my right side and then wanders over to the left of me, the leash is hanging on her other side and drapes awkwardly over her back.

medium flat duck

I love Chewy, great customer service and fast delivery. My dogs love the small flat duck so decided to get the medium, and now having to reorder the small. The Medium is not as sturdy as the small one. After 30 minutes of chewing on it all the sewing around the edge was coming out and the beak was chewed half off. Now it is used to throw and fetch, not a total loss and the small is still working as a chew toy for my 6 month goldendoodle.

Not great for puppies

The harness itself is sturdy but it does not fit puppies (we have a large breed puppy) well at all and using the front hook was very awkward when trying to walk him. Do not recommend. Unfortunately we will be donating this one or giving it away to a friend - waste of money.

Effective and simple

I already had a decent harness, but needed one much easier to put on and off. My dog wears two collars: a regular ID collar and another that holds the small box that opens his radio-frequency doggie door. Getting the harness over both collars was a struggle, and I was looking for something that would keep him from pulling AND would not interfere with the collars. I've had this a week now and am extremely happy. Highly recommended.
