how often should this filter be changed?

Are these filters suppose to be off white? I had a pure white filter that turned off white after a month.

Drink well water fountain and filters

Our cat wanted. To drink water from the bathroom faucet and we had tried other fountains before getting this one. She drank from it immediately loving the water streams that flow down. The filters keep the fountain very clean and are not expensive to replace

filters do the job

These filters prevent larger debris (such as pet hair) from clogging the pump. I wish that another option that isn't plastic would be developed.

Great filters!

Many years ago, I purchased the Drinkwell Plastic Fountain. These filters work great for catching debris and fur so the pump doesn't get clogged. I don't get a lot of debris, in summer there are a few of those tiny 'no-see-ums' insects that make it to the fountain and this filter catches them. I always rinse a new filter well under running water, and change it every month. When cleaning the fountain in between filter changes, I again rinse the filter well under running water, and pick out the few little cat hairs it gets. I wouldn't want my cats to drink something I wouldn't drink!

Great product

These filters are a great improvement. The original product served its purpose, but disintegrated over time since I clean the Drinkwell weekly. The new filters are much sturdier and 2 are provided.
