Does this unit have a slot on the backside of the bowl that will allow you to attach an additional 50 OZ reservoir tank? I have one from an older unit that got crushed.

The additional Capacity Reservoir easily attaches to the back of the Drinkwell® Original Fountain to increase the fountain’s overall capacity and make refills easier. With the use of the 50 oz Reservoir, the fountain’s total capacity increases to 100 oz.
Can I adjust the water flow rate?

This fountain includes an adjustable flow control to increase or decrease flow of water. Please check the image for reference.

how often will this need to be cleaned? how often do you have to change the filter?

Filters and regular cleaning will help extend the life of your fountain and pump. Filters should be replaced every 2 to 4 weeks. This fountain should be cleaned as needed.

Best Cat Fountain Of All

I have tried atleast 3 other fountains. This is the ONLY one I don't have to dismantle every week and thoroughly unclog and clean. I've had it 3 months now and haven't had to take it apart once. My cats are very particular about the water flow and I'm particular about the noise. This one satisfies us both! The color isn't that attractive but it might be better than the preferred white as it doesn't look as dirty all the time. Highly recommend

Works fine

Purchased this to replace my prior (+8 year old) Petsafe Drinkwell Original water fountain. Pump motor finally broke and they don't make the same replacement motor so got whole new fountain. Seems the same, alhough water flow is noiser. Hope this one lasts as long since my 3 cats like it. I like that it can be put in dishwasher, but haven't tried that yet.

So Far He Loves It

Just set up the fountain for our 15 year old male cat who was slightly dehydrated and has had two recent UTIs. We were afraid he would be scared of it, but in just a minute he started drinking from the bowl. He took four long drinks before he walked away. Looks like a great investment! I am wondering if we should have purchased a larger fountain based on his reaction.

Getting use to it

I bought this fountain for my cat because she always wanted to drink from the running sink water, which is fine but I had to stand there, so I bought her this. She was very apprehensive at first. She'll drink from the bowl but noy from the flowing water. She'll get used to it. I think it's cool/

Great Fountain

I have had many cat fountains, but the Drinkwell is the best, and lasts the longest. Had my last one about 7 years, and it finally wore out. You should carry the additional reservoir, which holds another quart for when you have to leave for a few days.

Motor is Noisy

I decided to replace our 2 year old fountain with this one. I wish I had kept the box to return this. The motor is annoying and much louder than our previous one. Save your $.

Way too loud

Our oldest cat has kidney issues but only drinks when we turn on the bathroom faucet, so this seemed a perfect way to get her to drink more. It's just so loud in both where the water lands as it falls, and the motor. I tried putting the whole thing on a rubber mat, but it wasn't quieter. Otherwise it's such a good idea and seemed well made.

My cat would not touch this fountain. The flow is too high even at the lowest setting.

Pump noise is horrible.

This was a replacement fountain for the one I had 3 years. My cats love it. Plugged new one in and it was so noisy with a hum that the water was shaking. The pump noise was horrible. Chewy promptly sent a new one and although not as bad the replacement still has a loud hum. The manufacture of the pump has an issue and they need to fix it. Even with the noise I would recommend.

Fountain Very loud

This fountain is very loud. If the sound of constant running water might be bothersome to you, do not buy this product.
