We purchased one for when we would go out of town for weekends in the summer to feed cat twice a day. We moved and my cat does not like strangers especially at feeding time so when we were going away for 4 days we opted to buy another (one set for mornings and one set for evenings) instead of risking a new neighbor getting attacked! Worked so well we now use daily. No question if anyone has fed the cat- she was scamming us for extra food. She now hears it spin and runs for her food. Had the first one for three years now and second one for about year with no issues on either. I changed batteries after a year when heading out of town to be safe. • Works Wonderful

    By on

I bought this 5 months ago to make life easier for my pet sitter while on vacation, but it has turned into something I use to feed my cat daily. She has a tendency to wolf everything down to quickly and sometimes it comes straight back up, so instead of leaving it all in her bowl, I give her a little in the morning, and put some in this on a timer to feed her again midday. While I'll admit my cat is not the smartest, she hasn't been able to get the food out before it dispenses it. It took her a month to get over being scared of it, but nothing that gives her food can be that bad, right? haha

  • It keeps flinging kibble into the air

    By on

I have no idea why this is happening but this feeder has been making loud clicks and flinging food vertically out of the tray. My cats are terrified by it. I used small, disk shaped kibble, nothing is trapped in the rotary and the flinging doesnt even happen at the feeding intervals (which surprisingly rotate properly)

  • Disappointed

    By on

I am very disappointed with this timed feeder. I have spoken with the manufacturer re setting the timer. There are 5 bowls and I set the timer for 3 days, different times. Bowls rotate 3 at a time! Chewy has already sent me a second feeder. I have high praise for Chewy customer service but this feeder is a joke. I will be leaving my cat for 3 days so hope one way or the other she'll get some food.

  • time saver

Purchased two for my one overweight cat and one that has a reflux problem. They get fed five small meals a day, three dry and two wet. This feeder allows me to sleep bc I don't need to get up to feed them and keeps them on schedule. I can also regulate the amount of food and adjust as needed. Cats were skittish at first, but now run to the feeder.

  • Great for IBD kitty!

    By on

This feeder works perfect as my cat has to eat smaller meals throughout the day. I have to feed my cat wet food due to her IBD and most feeders out there are for dry food only. It does make sound as it turns but that lets my kitty know it is time to eat! I no longer have to wake up at 3am every morning to feed her! This is the 3rd one I have purchased as the motor burns out a little over a year worth of use. It a good bang for your buck!

Perfect for when you are away for a short period. Took my cat a few days to get use to because it does make a noise when it spins. Also my cat cannot tip it over or even open it!!!!!! Love it !!!!

  • Controls the food intake

    By on

I bought so I can have control over how much my puppy eats. I started with just leaving his kibbles for him to eat at all time but he would gobble them all up before his lunch time. I was forced to find a way to portion his food and found this online. It did help but I find it hard to open the feeder. the opening notch shown at the front was not aligned therefore when I press it, it is not opening. I virtually had to have my finger pressed "in" to open and put food in the feeder.

  • Perfect for the compulsive eating cat

    By on

My cat, like my last cat, would gorge himself to the point of throwing up his food. So up until this little gadget came into my life I was having to set reminders for myself to feed him his 0.8 oz. I decided after my work schedule changed that I needed to get an auto-feeder. I didn't have a big budget so this one met my needs. So ordered it. I must say I would've preferred if it was plugged in. The batteries have me concerned as I don't know how long they'll last. But it's been working out great and I have no complaints.

  • Can't be trusted

    By on

The 5 meal timed pet feeder can't be trusted to cycle as specified. Sometimes it will cycle totally, sometimes it will cycle totally plus a 'bit' and sometimes it would cycle for about a 1" opening then stop. Seems after a few cycles the tray gets out-of-phase and is NOT centered in the opening, like the picture. I think that they took an easy thing and over engineered it. In the directions it says something about a 'No Beep Icon', don't hold your breath, there's no 'beep'.
