Electronic SmartDoor gives your pet a key to the house so he can come and go as he pleases. Using radio-frequency technology, the SmartDoor reads the unique signal of a SmartKey worn on your pet’s collar and triggers the battery power-driven flap to unlock. When the SmartDoor no longer senses your pet’s SmartKey, the flap automatically locks back into place. The SmartDoor can detect up to five programmed SmartKeys and also operates in two other modes: fully locked mode and unlocked mode. Locked mode does not allow entry or exit for any pet and unlocked mode allows entry and exit for all pets.
Easily program up to 5 SmartKeys with a touch of a button
Uses 4 D-cell batteries (not included)
Energy-efficient, insulated flap with UV sun protection
Puppy accidents were extra hard for me to clean up due to healing from Achilles surgery. Door helped train puppy. It makes a lot of "popping" noise at night.
Needs weather stripping
on Feb 10, 2019
The problem with it is that there is no kind of weather stripping between door flap and frame. This makes it like having an open window lets a lot of cold air in. Seems like some sort seal could have been engineered into this door. Other than the sealing problem it seems like a good product. I will be attempting to add the weather stripping myself.
Saved our peace of mind.

Love how it works. Didn't take our dogs long to figure it out at all. We had normal doggy door but we adopted 2 cats and they figured the doggie doors out right away. So we were panicking they would get out. So we found our savior. Simple to install simple to use.
Very poor quality
on Jan 25, 2019
I bought this item Nov 2017 for our new Labradoodle puppy. By July 2018 it was broken. Chewy sent me a replacement (thanks!). January 2019, it broke again and Chewy can't help because purchase was more than a year ago. The screen is thin and hardware very poor quality so any dog would break it in less than 6 months.
Not a good buy
on Jan 30, 2019
The door works as it should through the mode button, but none of the 5 keys will program to it. Since I already took it out of the box and took the stickers off, I'm stuck with a simple doggy door with batteries in it. Would not recommend this product.
Super easy to install and operate!

Very handy and works great with multiple pets too. Is a bit loud when locking and unlocking but makes sense ... ensure your sensor setting is good and you are off and running.
large and loud
on Sep 29, 2018
Be sure to check the measurements before you buy. The door flap is large, but the whole assembly is huge (caught us by surprise). Install was VERY EASY. Dogs are using it, however the unlocking sound is loud and kind of scares them (retrievers). I think they will get used to it. Would think cats might never get used to it. The flap is rigid and heavy...so the dogs are a bit hesitant, but again I think they will get used to it.
Best Electronic Door
on Sep 20, 2018
We have used this door for years in our home in PA, which we had a fenced in back yard. Just moved to N.C., so we ordered another door, that our dogs will use going from the house to the garage then garage to backyard. We wanted the 2nd door to keep unwanted visitors from coming in to the garage.
This is the only door I would use, just wish you could have an AC adapter to use instead of batteries.
Dog Key for Door
on Aug 19, 2018
The SmartDoor is good in itself. However, the key for the dog that hangs of the collar is reachable and my dog ate at it. As you can see in the picture my dogs neck is pretty small compared to the key. Now the key is broken and I have to leave the door always open or closed. Pretty useless at this point. I wish they would make the key smaller since it is for a small dog.
More freedom for Soda

I was very happy with the pet door. It was a little larger than I expected but very nice. I am sure that I will be ordering from chewy again.
